  • GTA Vehicles

The collection of vehicles in each game of the Grand Theft Auto series has been growing since the first installment. While there are no officially licensed cars in any of the GTA games, the vehicles are given fictional names and often resemble real life counterparts. The assortment of vehicles in Grand Theft Auto IV is even larger than previous games, and the cars are even more detailed and similar to real-life cars.

Drivable vehicles in GTA IV cover land, air and sea. Street vehicles include sports cars, sedans, motorcycles and scooters, bicycles, SUVs and tanks. Players can also take control of various boats to travel in water areas, as well as pilot helicopters for air travel.

As the player progresses through the game, high-end cars become more commonplace. The more expensive cars tend to be faster, easier to handle and are better-looking overall. The high-end cars in GTA IV also have GPS systems that give voice directions to the driver.

  • Game Background

Grand Theft Auto IV is the ninth game in Rockstar Games' popular long-running franchise. The games are infamous for their violent, anarchic spirit and gleefully amoral content. In GTA IV, recent Eastern European immigrant Niko Bellic moves to America's Liberty City (based on New York City) to start a new life. He winds up working for his cousin Roman's taxi company, which is really a front for all manner of criminal enterprises. Though the actual navigable area of Liberty City is a bit smaller than that of the previous GTA game, San Andreas, the graphics have been improved and the game is more interactive.
