One of the side missions in the Grand Theft Auto series was originally thought to be the Ambulance Mission. It was described as follows: "When a player commandeered an ambulance, they would have the option to play the side mission, which would involve picking up injured citizens and taking them to the local hospital. Rewards for delivering patients to the hospital successfully and within the time limit would have been health restoration and Sprint upgrades."
Ambulances would typically be found next to hospitals. A team of paramedics would also show up if multiple civilians were killed. A player would then be able to steal an ambulance when the two paramedics revived the downed civilians. A player would be able to transport up to three patients in an ambulance at one time.

Grand Theft Auto 4 Ambulance Scene
This is a scene of the ambulance as the paramedics are working on a patient. When doing the Ambulance mission, this is when someone would steal the ambulance. The player in this scene was actually hit by the ambulance. The player did not seem to be hurt badly as he stood up and walked about.
