Gran Turismo 5, for the first time in the series, gives players the chance to race with up to 16 drivers at the same time. Also new to the series is the Cockpit View, which gives players the chance to check out more of their vehicles interior, complete with authentic dashboards.

The game features more than 1000 cars, realistically and painstakingly detailed, from manufacturers like Ferrari, Lotus and Mitsubishi. There are a number of different tracks, which can be raced in reverse or using alternative routes.

In GT5, the opponent AI has been improved to give more believable reactions. A new physics engine improves vehicle handling and more authentically recreates the characteristics of each car.IGN: Gran Turismo 5

The cars are able to receive damage which will enhance the gameplay. The game also features a Photo Mode if the player wants capture his greatest moments.
