Gran Turismo 5 Prologue was released on April 17, 2008. It provides a taste of the full game, Gran Turismo 5, and can be purchased for $39.99.Amazon.com: Gran Turismo 5 Prologue The full game is scheduled for release sometime in 2009.Gran Turismo 5, for the first time in the series, gives players the chance to race with up to 16 drivers at the same time. Also new to the series is Cockpit View, which gives players the chance to check out more of their vehicles interior, complete with authentic dashboards.
The game features 50 cars, realistically and painstakingly detailed, from manufacturers like Ferrari, Lotus and Mitsubishi. There are a number of different tracks, which can be raced in reverse or using alternative routes.
In GT5, the opponent AI has been improved to give more believable reactions. A new physics engine improves vehicle handling and more authentically recreates the characteristics of each car.IGN: Gran Turismo 5
