  • Gran Turismo 2 is the second installment in the Gran Turismo racing game series. The style of the game remained the same, with more than 100 designer vehicles available for gameplay. The game was praised for staying similar to its style and for having a soundtrack featuring various contemporary artists. However, the developers of the game were heavily criticized for not paying attention to detail, as errors were prevalent in the game.

  • Criticisms

Some critics said the game was rushed in order for Sony to take advantage of the 1999 holiday shopping season. The critics point to the various errors in the game. The biggest error is the completion percentage; the maximum a player can achieve is 98.2 percent in the North American version. In the English-speaking PAL version, the maximum a player can achieve is 100.8 percent. There are also several references to drag racing; however, there's no drag racing mode in the game. Many reviewers believe the game was to include drag racing, but it wasn't included so the game could be made available for the holiday shopping season.
