Grammy Awards 2010

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards were held on Sunday, January 31, 2010, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

The late Michael Jackson was honored in one of the more notable performances of the night including Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion, Smokey Robinson, Usher and Carrie Underwood singing "Earth Song." Jackson's children Paris and Prince Michael Jackson took the stage following the performance to accept a lifetime achievement award on behalf of their father.

On Wednesday, December 2, the 2010 Grammy nominations were announced. Singer and songwriter Beyonce led all nominees with 10 nominations, including for a song she helped write for the film Cadillac Records. Taylor Swift was also on top receiving eight nominations this year. Jason Mraz, Colbie Caillat, Dave Matthews Band and Maxwell were also among Grammy Awards Nominees.

2010 Grammy Performances

  • Lady Gaga opens the show with a performance of "Poker Face," then is joined on stage by Elton John to sing "Your Song."
  • Green Day and the Broadway cast of American Idiot sing "American Idiot."
  • Pink comes out in a robe to sing "Glitter in the Air," then strips down to nearly nothing to perform a wet acrobatics act above the crowd.
  • The Black Eyed Peas perform a remix of their popular hits "Imma Be" and "I Gotta Feeling."
  • Leon Russell joins best new artist winner the Zac Brown Band to perform "America The Beautiful," Dixie Lullaby" and "Chicken Fried."
  • Big winner Taylor Swift sings "Today Was A Fairytale" alone, then is joined by Stevie Nicks for "Rhiannon" and "We Belong Together."
