- 10:27 pm Quincy Jones and Usher present the album of the year award to Herbie Hancock for River: The Joni Letters after Usher told the crowd "There are no losers in this category Kanye".
- 10:25 pm Will I Am sings and raps a Grammy song collaboration list including "Don't Worry Be Happy", "Mac The Knife", "Strangers in the Night" and more.
- 10:13 pm Bonnie Raitt introduces Little Richard, John Fogerty and Jerry Lee Lewis and play "Coming Down The Road", "Great Balls of Fire" and "Good Golly Miss Molly"
- 10:04 pm Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban sing "The Prayer" in tribute to Luciano Pavarotti and all those who passed this year.

- 9:47 pm Natalie Cole and Tony Bennett award pay tribute to Doris Day as a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. Together they presented the award for record of the year to Amy Winehouse for Rehab who was in shock and in instant tears and dedicates the win to her incarcerated husband and to London.
- 9:41 pm Cuba Gooding Jr. is live from London and introduces Amy Winehouse via satellite singing "You Know I'm No Good" and "Rehab"

- 9:25 pm Joe Montena announces Max Young and Itzhak Perlman as Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipients then introduces Herbie Hancock and Lang Lang playing dueling pianos in "Rhapsody in Blue"
- 9:18 pm Ringo Starr and Dave Stewart award the best country album to Vince Gill for These Days and says "I just got an award given to me by a Beatle, have you had that happen yet Kanye?"
- 9:11 pm Stevie Wonder receives a standing ovation, and pays tribute to Berry Gordy, founder of Motown Records as an industry icon. Stevie Wonder introduces Alicia Keys for a performance of "No One" with John Mayer.
- 9:00 pm Keely Smith and Kid Rock sing "That Old Black Magic" and award the best rock album to Foo Fighters for Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace and Dave Grohl thanks his daughter Violet for his inspiration to write the album.
- 8:57 Carole King and Dierks Bentley introduce Earl Scruggs as a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient and introduces Feist for a live performance of 1 2 3 4.
- 8:40 pm Ludacris introduces Cab Calloway as a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient and introduces Aretha Franklin for a live Gospel performance with Madison Bumblebees, Mary J. Blige, Trin-I-Tee, The Clark Sisters, and Israel and New Breed.
- 8:38 pm Chris Brown, Solange Knowles, and Akon announce the best rap album winner Kanye West for Graduation. Kanye says "He feels good to be home" and thanks for the support for his mother, and asks them to stop playing the background music so he can say his thanks. "Momma, all I'm going to do is keep making you proud. We run this".
