Grain milk is a non-dairy beverage made from grain. The grain has usually been fermented before being used to make the milk. Any type of grain can be used, although rye milk and oat milk are the most common commercially available grain milks. Since grain milks are based on grain, not animal products, they will all have a higher carbohydrate content, and lower protein content than animal milk. Commercially available grain milks are usually fortified with vitamins and calcium.
Benefits
Grain milk is extremely low in saturated fat, and contains no lactose, making it beneficial for those who are lactose intolerant or have digestive problems. Grain milk also lacks animal protein, making it a suitable alternative for vegans and people who are allergic to milk.
