Graco recalled three types of strollers and travel systems after reports that the plastic hinges that attach the canopy to the base can easily injure small fingers. On Wednesday, January 20, 2010, Graco recalled approximately 1.5 million Passage, Alano and Spree model strollers. The recalled Graco strollers were sold at Babies R' Us, Toys R' Us, Kmart, Sears, Target, Walmart and other retailers that sell Graco strollers. The Graco strollers were recalled after the company received five reports of fingertip amputations and 2 severe lacerations. How to Identify the Recalled Graco Strollers
The recalled Graco strollers and travel systems include the Passage, Alano and Spree models were made between October 2004 and February 2008. The recalled strollers have what is described as a "plastic, jointed hinge mechanism" that have "canopy positioning notches." Graco and the Consumer Product Safety Commission released a list of the the stroller's model numbers that are considered hazardous.
