  • Grace Coddington is the Creative Director of American Vogue, currently featuring in the documentary The September Issue, alongside Anna Wintour.

    Grace began her career in Fashion after winning a modeling competition at British Vogue, eventually going on to become Junior Fashion Editor there in 1968. In 1987 she moved to Calvin Klein to take up the position of Design Director.

    Grace was the first person Anna Wintour hired when she took over the editorship of American Vogue in 1988 - they had previously worked together on British Vogue.

    In 2006 Steidhl published The Catwalk Cats, a collection of photographs and drawings by Grace Coddington and her partner, hairstylist Didier Malige. This book documents their private lives and their work through the eyes of their cats.

    Grace Coddington gave a talk at NYPL, the New York Public Library on October 21st, 2009. Anna Wintour was also in attendance.

  • The September Issue

    Grace has largely been touted as the real star of the documentary The September Issue which focuses on the putting together of the September 2007 it ssue of US Vogue, and Anna Wintour's power over the fashion industry. Grace comes to the fore in the documentary as the creative force behind Vogue.

    The September Issue was released on DVD September 2009.
