GPS Geotagging is the process whereby GPS coordinates are used to tag digital photographs in a way that identifies the location where the photograph was taken. While geotagging has become available on photo sharing sites such as Picasa or Flickr, a GPS method for encoding locations directly into digital photograph files has started to appear in cell phones and software programs on the market. Apple included GPS Geotagging as a new feature with its iPhoto software, announced at MacWorld 2009.
