Govinda is a popular comedic Bollywood actor who more recently also entered into politics. He has been involved with a number of collaborations with director David Dhawan.

Govinda was born in Thane, Mumbai, India. He received his degree from Annasaheb Vartak College in commerce but had trouble finding work after graduation.

He got his big break into films with the movies Sadaa Suhagan and Love 86, after which he was signed on to do a number projects that ranged in genre from action to comedy to romance.

In 2004 he was elected to the Lok Sabha and became a member of parliament, but after limited success, he decided to move back to films in 2008.
