  The original versions of Kitchen Nightmares and Hell's Kitchen premiered in Britain and ran for several seasons. Hell's Kitchen premiered in the United States in May 2005. The original title of Ramsay's first show in Britain was Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares.

• Restaurant Entrepreneur

  Ramsay holds a 69% stake in his company Gordon Ramsay Holdings Limited, co-chaired by his father-in-law, Chris Hutcheson. In addition to his European restaurants, Ramsay has opened two restaurants in the United States with a third coming at The London West Hollywood. The winner of Hell's Kitchen Season 4 will become the head chef of this new restaurant.

• Alleged Affair

  The News of the World reported in late November 2008 that Ramsay was having an extramarital affair with marketing executive Sarah Symonds. Ramsay was reportedly spotted at Symonds' hotel several times in November. Ramsay is married to Tana Hutcheson and the couple have four children together.   On December 1, 2008 Ramsay admitted that he had a seven-year affair with Symonds. Symonds told The Daily Mail that Ramsay had admitted to having relations with another woman, whom he had met through the Hells Kitchen show. Symonds called Ramsay a "complete hypocrite" for trying to portray himself as a family man on the show.
