The Google Zeitgeist 2008 lists the year's most popular and fastest growing search terms on Google. The results are based on billions of user submitted search queries. The 2008 edition contains the most popular search terms related to many of the leading current events of the year, such as the presidential election, the financial crisis and the Summer Olympics, as well as top searches in pop culture, including music, movies, sports and technology.
