Google Launches Maps Navigation

  • On October 28, 2009 Google announced its Google Maps Navigation application for Android 2. Google added that the first phone to support Google Maps Navigation and Android 2.0 will be the Droid from Verizon.http://news.cnet.com/8301-30684_3-10384544-265.html

    Google started their Maps application development in 2004, when they acquired Where 2 Technologies. Google transformed their application to Google Maps, a webbased application. They gradually expanded Maps by introducing Satellite images, Google Ride Finder (2005), extended road maps, (2006), buildings and traffic information (2007) and Street View (also 2007). http://www.google.com/corporate/history.html
