The pranks are generally fantastic applications, based on real capabilities but mocking Google's own reputation for being all powerful.
On April Fools Day 2009, the artificial intelligence program "CADIE" took over Google with her vast knowledge of everything.

On April 1, 2009, Google users were introduced to "CADIE," an artificial intelligence service with a "mind of her own," using a panda avatar. CADIE was "born" on March 31, 2009, at 11:59 p.m. She was foolproof and incapable of error. CADIE took over all aspect of Google providing "help" to users.
