  • Golf Course Info

    A golf course is typically made up of 18 holes (the length of a normal round) including the teeing area, fairways, rough, and other hazards like water. The end of the hole consists of the green and cup. There are some golf courses that have only nine holes, while others can have as many as 27 or 36. The first section of a golf course is the tee, where a golfer hits the ball as far down the course to the green as they can. In between the tee and the green may be multiple hazards. The three typical hazards include water such as lakes or ponds, man-made sand traps called bunkers, and areas of heavy vegetation. When the ball lands in a hazard, it can either be played without penalty, or dropped and hit from another location, usually resulting in a penalty of one or more strokes.
