The goldendoodle, also known as the doodle, is a dog cross-bred between the golden retriever and poodle. They are generally loving, loyal and low maintenance. Depending on the exact amount of golden retriever and poodle in each dog, their coat may vary from curly to long and thick. President-Elect Barack Obama and his family are reportedly considering getting a goldendoodle for when they move into the White House.

Health Problems
Goldendooldes are generally healthy dogs but have been known to have problems with their eyes. Larger goldendoodles may also have hip problems.Sports or Activities
As they are not officially recognized by the American Kennel Club, goldendoodles are generally not competitively shown. They can however work as guide or therapy dogs. They have a lot of energy and can be headstrong if not sufficiently disciplined and destructive is not sufficiently exercised.-
