    During the telecast director Darren Aronofsky raised his finger to Mickey Rourke. The camera caught the event. While it was not shown on the East Coast, the gesture was shown to viewers everywhere in the country.   • Slumdog Millionaire

    Slumdog Millionaire, the story of a young Indian man who became a national hero after appearing on a quiz show, picked up four Golden Globes: Best Picture Drama, Best Director (Danny Boyle), Best Score (A.R. Rahman) and Best Screenplay (Simon Beaufoy).
  • TV Winner Highlights

    30 Rock once again garnered the attention of the foreign press; Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin won awards for acting and the program won the Globe for Best Television Comedy. The television miniseries John Adams was another big winner, as Laura Linney and Paul Giamatti both won for their performances. The program was also named Best Television Movie or Miniseries.
  • Anne Hathaway Incident

    On January 8, 2009, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (the program responsible for the Golden Globe Awards) declared Anne Hathaway a Best Actress Drama winner on its website.
