The Shores of Attica
- Gorgon Eyes: 0, Phoenix Feathers: 0
]
- Cut scene: The game begins with a brief recap of recent events in Kratos' life. He is now helping to defend Attica against an invading Persian army.
- Kratos stands on the roof of a building as Persian soldiers scale the wall with ladders. Defeat them and familiarize yourself with Kratos' different attacks.
- Mini-cut scene: A Persian ship fires at the roof Kratos is standing on. An Athenian soldier assigned to the ballista on the roof lies injured on the ground. A second wave of Persian soldiers scales the wall.
- After defeating all of the soldiers, run to the abandoned ballista. You see a sparkling interaction beacon. Stand in front of the beacon and press the O button, then pull down on the Analog stick to fire the ballista.
- The Persians return fire, destroying the ballista and knocking a hole in the roof. There is now an interaction beacon on the Athenian soldier lying nearby. Hit the O button to interact with him. "Corpse of Eurybiades - Leader of the Athenian army"
- You're finished on the roof. Before jumping into the hole created by the Persians, be sure to break open the boxes scattered around the roof. They contain valuable Red Orbs. Run into the hole to fall to the room below.
]
- You land amidst a group of Persian and Athenian soldiers fighting. The Athenians die quickly and you are left to clean up the remaining Persians.
- After clearing the room, run to the glowing green chest. Press and hold O to interact with it and lift the heavy lid. It contains a bunch of Green Orbs, which refill some of your life. Good thing, since you have your first boss fight coming up.
- In the front of the room is a large door with a sparkling interaction beacon. Before checking it out, break all the crates in the room to get some Red Orbs. Not all of them can be broken, so don't waste your time flailing around.
]
- Run to the door and press O repeatedly to open it. A one-eyed monster bursts through, but he is soon dispatched by the real menace, a gigantic basilisk wearing a busted collar.
- The Basilisk has two attacks. First, he rears his head back and flames begin building inside his mouth. This is your warning of an incoming attack. As he lunges his head forward, he belches out a burst of flame. Avoid this through timely use of the evade command. To evade, hold the Left and Right shoulder buttons while moving the Analog Stick to the left or right.
- He also tries to bite you. He thrusts his head into the center of the room and snaps his teeth to the left and right. This attack can most easily be avoided by standing to the far sides of the room where he can't reach. If he catches you, hold the L Button to try to block the attack.
- The lull between his flame and bite attacks is your opportunity to get some hits in. Your attacks beat both Red and Green Orbs out of him.
- When the Basilisk's health reaches about 40%, the game pauses to let you know it's time for a minigame. Press O to initiate the minigame, which consists of hitting the buttons indicated onscreen. If you mess up or hit the buttons too slowly, the minigame ends and the Basilisk's health refills to about 85%.
- After you have successfully hit two buttons in the minigame, the camera pans to a large mass of wood lying on the ground nearby. It has an interaction beacon. Run over and hit the O button to pick it up and whack the Basilisk over the head with it. Red and Green Orbs pop out and the Basilisk runs off with a screech.
- If you die, you have the option to restart from your last checkpoint, which is after the room was cleared of enemies and before you opened the chest.
-
The Gates of Attica
- Gorgon Eyes: 2, Phoenix Feathers: 0
]
- Head out the door to pursue the Basilisk.
- Mini-cut scene: Projectiles smash into the ground before you. Further along the path, the Basilisk has scaled the side of a building. When he turns his head, you see that one of his eyes was put out when you hit him over the head. Otherwise, he seems uninjured.
- Follow the path and head toward the Basilisk. Red circles appear on the ground, warning you of incoming projectiles. Dodge these until you come upon a battering ram with an interaction beacon.
- Press and hold the O button while moving forward with the analog stick to push the battering ram to the door in the building in front of you. If red circles appear in your path, stop and wait for the projectile to land before continuing forward.
- When the ram is in place, run behind it and tap the O button repeatedly to smash down the gates.
- Before entering the gates, run to the left and jump onto the platform. Break the crate for a red orb and then open the chest. You acquire your first Gorgon Eye. Collect four of these to increase your overall health.
- Now run to the right of the gates to find some more crates and a red chest.
- Save the game at the glowing pillar of light and then head inside the building.
]
- Mini-cut scene: An archer stands on the other side of a broken bridge and fires arrows at you.
- As soon as you jump in the water, the archers stop firing on you. Swim across and take out the archer and his buddies.
- Grab the green chest on the right side of the room and then head to the crank on the left. Hold O and then use the analog stick to push the crank counter-clockwise.
- As soon as you begin turning the crank, two soldiers burst out of the door to your left. Dispatch them and then return to turn the crank . The door at the far end of the room begins to rise.
- When the door is fully open, two more Persians burst out. Take them out and then open the door one more time. Run as fast as you can and use your evade move (L + R shoulder buttons and analog stick) to slide under the door before it reaches the bottom.
]
- Take out the enemies waiting for you on the other side of the door.
- Run to the right until you reach a wooden tower. Break through the wall to reveal two red chests and a crate.
- Another wooden tower stands to the left of where you came in. Climb up the ladder revealed inside and get off on the third floor by hitting the X button. You'll find a chest containing another Gorgon Eye.
- Get back on the ladder and climb all the way to the top. Hit the O button to kick down the wall blocking your path.
- Mini-cut scene: The Basilisk stands on a distant rooftop, breathing fire. Soldiers run to attack you.
- After dispatching the soldiers, run to the far left to find a red chest.
- Then run all the way to the right. The path before you has fallen to the flaming ground below. A narrow beam is all that remains. If you fall off the beam, hit the X button to pull yourself back up. Take too long and Kratos will lose his grip and fall to his death.
- Open the green chest on the other side and then press O to kick open the door before you.
]
- Cut scene: A giant Persian, accompanied by a few cronies, stands within the room you've just entered. It is his Basilisk that wreaks havoc on Attica.
- The King has three attacks. He swings his massive scimitar twice, pauses for two seconds, and then does it again. This can easily be blocked by holding the L shoulder button.
- The King also sets his sword on fire and slams it into the ground directly in front of him. This can be blocked or dodged.
- His third attack calls upon the power of Efreet. He sucks in energy and then releases it in a blast wave that does damage in a set radius around him. Avoid this by dodging backward.
- The King begins the fight with three cronies. They do minimal damage. If you kill them all, two more re-spawn, so just ignore them. You often kill them by accident when you attack the King.
- When you've gotten the King's health fairly low, a minigame begins. First, rapidly hit the O button to push the king back. Then hit the buttons indicated on the screen in a timely manner to finish him off.
- If you fail at the minigame, the King's health refills to 50% and you have to beat him down again. His cronies stop spawning, but you also no longer get red and green orbs to keep your health replenished.
- When you have defeated him, you acquire the Efreet.
]
- Enemies begin spawning in the room after you've defeated the Persian King. This is a good chance to play around with your new power, since it won't drain your magic meter for the time being. Hold the R shoulder button and press Triangle to activate Demon Fury.
- After defeating them, the doors at the end of the room open. A save point lies beyond the door to the left. Walk through the door on the right.
- Mini-cut scene: Two naked women lie on a pallet on the floor.
- Go up to the women and press O to activate a button-press minigame. When the L+R shoulder buttons appear on the screen, you have to tap them alternately and not simply hold them down. Successfully completing the minigame grants you a large number of red orbs.
- Leave the two ladies, head through the door on the left, and save your game.
-
Fallen Stronghold
- Gorgon Eyes: 1, Phoenix Feathers: 1
]
- After saving, open the door at the end of the room. A walkway leads to another door, but the path is blocked by enemies. Press the O button to kick down the ladders of enemies scaling the walls. Or you can ignore the ladders to keep the enemies coming so you can farm them for orbs. They stop coming eventually either way.
- Move to the giant crossbow in the center of the walkway. It has three positions: left, center, and right. Rotate it to the center and fire it at the building you see in the far distance.
- With that done, rotate the crossbow all the way to the right and fire it at the Basilisk. It doesn't do much other than make him run off, but there is now an interaction beacon on the door at the end of the walkway.
- Don't forget to loot the chest before you continue on.
]
- You find yourself in a room with a crank in the middle and a ladder at the far end. Ignore the crank and head up the ladder. At the top you'll find a red chest and another containing your first Phoenix Feather. These can be used increase your overall magic.
- Hop back down to the crank. Turn it counter-clockwise to lower the platform into the room below.
- Run down the hallway and you'll come upon a large courtyard. As you arrive, a Cyclops arrives and obliterates the hapless soldiers who run to attack him.
- The Cyclops' attacks cannot effectively be blocked. Wait until his attack is finished and then dart in to get in some quick damage. Use your Plumes of Prometheus attack (Square', Square, Triangle) to damage him while keeping yourself at a distance. If he gets too close, use your dodge ability to get away. Don't forget your new magic attack, Demon Fury, either.
- When you've defeated him, loot the two chests in the courtyard and run to the door on the left, which was previously blocked.
- Run down the path before you and take out the archers firing flaming arrows at you. Open the two chests on the left for some red orbs and a Gorgon Eye. Save the game.
-
Siege of Attica
- Gorgon Eyes: 1, Phoenix Feathers: 1
]
- Head to the ladder against the wall near the save point. Climb the wall and jump to the platform above. Once again, Persian soldiers are using ladders to scale the walls, but there are also archers shooting flaming arrows at you from a distance.
- You can kick down the ladders or farm the soldiers for red orbs, as before. Eventually, they stop coming.
- Run to the platform on the left to loot the chest. If you fired the crossbow at this building earlier, there is now a hole in the wall. Run inside to find a chest concealing a Gorgon Eye.
- Go to the next platform and double jump across the gap to take out the last two archers. You find a red chest and another Phoenix Feather.
- Continue to the end of the walkway, past the archers firing at you. Break down the wooden wall in front of you to reveal a room with a lever, which lowers the platform to the floor below.
- Loot the two chests, a green one to the right and red one to the left concealed by some fruit stands.
- Continue up the stairs and open the door.
]
- Mini-cut scene: The Basilisk stands on the roof of a building in front of you. A body falls from his mouth and lands in the courtyard below.
- Take out the enemies in the courtyard. They re-spawn for a while, but eventually stop.
- There are four chests in this area, one green and three red. One of the red ones can be found on the left, on top of a platform with a couple of archers. Run to the very end of the courtyard and look to the left to find the last two red chests hidden amongst some fruit stands.
- From the area with the fruit stands, run all the way to the bottom of the screen to find a movable crate. Kick the crate back to where you entered the area and onto a pressure plate. This opens the door in front of you.
- Find the body dropped by the Basilisk and carry it through the doorway. Drop it on the second pressure plate and head into the next room.
- Loot the red chest on the right and then continue down the hallway to the left.
- Replenish your health and magic with the two chests in the room. Save your game. At this point, you may also have collected enough red orbs to power up your Blades of Chaos.
-
The Basilisk Strikes
- Gorgon Eyes: 0, Phoenix Feathers: 1
]
- From the save point, continue up the hallway. Loot the chest for a Phoenix Feather and then follow the path to the left until you come to a door. The Basilisk awaits you on the other side.
- Your two most potent attacks against the Basilisk is your Demon Fury magical attack and the upgraded Blades of Chaos (L-shoulder + Square). If you haven't collected enough red orbs for the upgrade yet, use your Plumes of Prometheus attack.
- As before, the Basilisk has a flame attack. It cannot be avoided by dodging backward, since it sends a wave of fire that sweeps over the walkway from right to left. Double jump over it as it approaches you, taking this opportunity to do an aerial attack if you can.
- Periodically, the Basilisk grabs Kratos in his teeth. Hit the L + R shoulder buttons alternately to wrench his jaws apart and break free.
- The Basilisk also slams the ground with his arm. This attack cannot be blocked. Roll out of its range by dodging or use Demon Fury, which makes you temporarily invincible.
- If your attack is vicious enough, you will push the Basilisk back and he will release a flood of green and blue orbs. This also provokes him into using his flame attack, so be ready for it.
- When you've pushed him back sufficiently, the Basilisk retreats back the way he came and cower on the roof. Run up to him, dodging his fireballs, and press the O button to climb up onto his hand. Quickly rotate the analog stick counter-clockwise to pull him down onto the walkway. Kratos pulls a stone tower down to smash on the Basilisk's head.
- The fight begins again. You need to do the whole sequence a second time to pull the other tower down onto his head.
- After bringing down the second tower, beat on the Basilisk a little bit more until the O symbol appears under his neck. Complete this last minigame to fell the fire-breathing menace for good.

Cliffs of Marathon
- Gorgon Eyes: 1, Phoenix Feathers: 2
]
- Cut scene: Kratos leaves the city of Attica and sees the sun fall from the sky, leaving the land in darkness. He sets out across a gray land to seek out the fallen light. Only Morpheus, the god of dreams, wields power in the darkness.
- Open the nearby chest for a Phoenix Feather and then continue to the right.
- Run to the edge of the cliff and walk over. Kratos automatically latches onto the cliff wall. Climb down to loot the red chest below.
- Follow the path to the left and jump onto the wall. Climb all the way to the bottom and save your game.
- Climb the stairs lit by the flaming torch and bash in the stone wall to the right. You'll encounter a new enemy here, the undead legionnaire. They do more damage than the Persians you've encountered before, but are nothing to worry about.
- Move into the next room and bust through the wooden planks in the wall at the back to find a couple of chests.
- Run back out and exit through the door on the left. You'll find yourself back outside in the courtyard. Take down the three legionnaires and follow the path forward.
- At the point where the path begins to curve left, look directly in front of you to see a building with a lit torch beside the doorway. Run into the doorway and move right to find a concealed red chest.
- Five more legionnaires spawn further up the path, three of them archers who annoy you from a distance. Take them all out and then run back to grab the green chest.
- From the green chest run left to the building directly opposite and enter the doorway lit by a torch. You'll find another red chest.
- Move back to where you killed the archers and grab the blue chest. Then run to the building directly in front of you and through the door lit by a torch. There are two more red chests for you to plunder.
]
- Mini-cut scene: Kratos sees a burning box with a twinkling interactive beacon. The flame from the box keeps the shadows at bay.
- Stand behind the box and press the O button to push it to the gate in front of you. The box can only be moved forward or backward. You'll take damage if you step outside of the protective field surrounding the box.
- Move through the gate and loot the chest immediately to the left for your fifth Gorgon Eye. You should have collected enough by now to increase your health meter.
- Run further into the room and you'll encounter your first banshee. Attack banshees quickly to keep them stunned. Cyclone of Chaos (L-shoulder + Square) is very effective, as is Demon Fury. They drop magic orbs when they die, so don't hesitate to use your magic. When they're almost dead, press the O button to start a button-press minigame and finish them off, .
- Banshees will spawn forever, but eventually stop dropping orbs when you kill them. To stop their onslaught, run to the crank at the far end of the courtyard and turn it counter-clockwise.
- Take out the archers firing on you from the end of the courtyard. Jump into the middle of them and use Demon Fury, then finish them off with Cyclone of Chaos. Grab the red chest in the alcove to the right and then run back the way you came.
- Loot the chest by the crank and then head up the stairs to the statue. Grab the torch it's holding and head back to where you killed the archers. You'll see a cart all the way in the back to the left. Use the torch to set it on fire.
- Push the cart forward and follow the path. Stop the cart at the first archer on the left, finish him off, and loot the two red chests. Continue along the path, kill the second archer on the right, and loot the two chests. One of them contains a Phoenix Feather. You should have collected enough by now to increase your magic meter.
- Continue with the cart through the fog and you'll meet a new enemy, a type of saber cat. It has some powerful attacks, but is easy enough to take down. Block or dodge its physical attacks, and either dodge backward or use Demon Fury to avoid its cone attack. The minigame to finish it off involves three turns with the analog stick, two semi-circles and one full circle.
- From here, run to the right and bash your way through the rock wall. Take out the two archers that spawn further up the path and grab the green chest. You'll probably need it after fighting the saber cat.
- Loot the red chest and then jump onto the broken wall to the right. Climb into the courtyard above to find a save point.
-
-
The Steed Shrine
]
- Gorgon Eyes: 0, Phoenix Feathers: 0
- The circular platform marks the resting place of Boreas, the North Wind. The plaque beside the save point commemorates the shrine of the Fire Steeds, who draw the chariot of the sun god Helios. This starting area also holds three levers, but you can't do anything with them for now.
- Run over the bridge and head to the Temple. When you reach the other side, a few legionnaires and banshees spawn to greet you. Dispatch them to unblock the path and continue forward to the left.
- Follow the path all the way to the end and jump onto the climbable wall. Climb all the way to the top, ignoring the first landing. There's nothing here of interest.
-
Temple of Helios
- Gorgon Eyes: 1, Phoenix Feathers: 1
]
- Cut scene: Kratos walks into the temple and is greeted by Athena. She tells him that the temple is actually Helios' chariot and it was the god himself that Kratos saw falling from the sky. Without Helios, there is no one to keep Morpheus from seizing permanent power. Kratos must find Helios and return him to the sky.
- From where Kratos is standing when the cut scene ends, run left through the pool of water to find a chest with a Gorgon Eye.
- Move back up the courtyard, past the stairs, and turn left into the second pool of water. A red chest is hidden in the upper right corner.
- Go inside the building for a green chest, a save point, and an elevator. A couple of satyrs spawn as soon as you ride the elevator up. One of them, on the other side of the gate, lobs fire bombs at you. You can't reach it yet, so avoid his bombs and ignore him.
- From the elevator, run down the stairs to the right for a Phoenix Feather.
- Now go down the stairs to the left of the elevator. Three satyrs spawn, these dual-wielding swords. They require a bit of damage to take down. After downing them, grab the chest and continue down the path to find a lever. This opens a gate that was formerly accessible.
- Pull the lever, then head back to the elevator and go down to the previous floor.
- Run back to the courtyard and up the stairs on the left that you ignored before. Three dual-wielding satyrs spawn. Try to keep them at a distance. When you kill one, a few of the firebomb satyrs spawn. Avoid their bombs, but concentrate on the dual-wielding enemies, since they do more damage. Clear out those enemies and a few more firebomb satyrs spawn. Finish them off and the path will be unblocked. Continue on to find the gate that you previously opened.
- Head through the gate, grab the chest, and follow the path to get revenge on the satyr who had been lobbing bombs at you earlier. Pull the lever to open the gate in front of you.
]
- Head down the stairs and then follow the hallway to the left, grabbing the red chest you'll find after the first right turn. Continue down the hall until you reach another room.
- The camera flips. Take out the harpies and then run up the stairs to your left for a red chest.
- There are two statues here, one on the left wall and one on the right. Pull them out from the wall and flip the switches they concealed. Two doors open, one on either side of the statue on the right.
- First, go through the door to the right of the statue, the one closer to the bottom of the room. A new enemy with flaming swords appears. Attack him quickly and don't give him a chance to react. Finish him off with a little button-press minigame. As soon as he is down, two more spawn. Take them down the same way, blocking their attacks, and assaulting them with your Cyclone of Chaos attack.
- Loot the green chest and then pull the lever at the far end of the room. Exit back into the main room and head through the door to the left of the statue.
-
Grand Hallway
- Gorgon Eyes: 2, Phoenix Feathers: 1
]
- Save your game and then continue to the right for a chest. Follow the hallway to a balcony overlooking a circular room below.
- Head down the stairway on the right and take a left when you reach the bottom. You'll find a chest with a Phoenix Feather. Two red chests are visible as well. Grab those and then head to the circular platform in the center of the room.
- Attack the two locks that hold the platform in place and it will fall slowly to the floor below. Legionnaires with flaming swords spawn on the platform. Cyclone of Chaos and Demon Fury are your friends here. The legionnaires stop spawning once the platform reaches the bottom.
- Once you kill the last legionnaire, an armored hyperion enemy appears. Use the Plumes of Prometheus combo once and then block through the armor's attacks. Repeat until the minigame symbol appears over his head. Turn the analog stick in the direction indicated to finish him off.
- Exit the platform and loot the four chests against the wall in front of you. Then head up the stairs.
- As soon as you run through the doorway at the top of the stairs, the door closes behind you. There is nothing of interest along the corridor to the right, but two red chests can be found at the end of the left corridor.
- You also see a shimmering pillar about halfway down the corridor. Press the O button to push it down, creating a bridge to the platform in the center of the room.
]
- Cutscene: Eos, the sister of Helios, tells you that Atlas has been freed from the pits of Tartarus and torn her brother from the sky. She tells Kratos to take the Sun Shield from Helios' throne and then find her in the Caves of Olympus.
- On the opposite side of the platform, at about 2:00, twinkles an interaction beacon. Use it to pull down a far pillar and create a second bridge to continue across the room.
- From the pillar, follow the corridor towards the bottom of the screen. You'll find a red chest and a Gorgon Eye.
- Head back up the corridor and up the stairs to the right. When you run into the next room, the door closes behind you.
- Attack the throne in the center of the room. It shatters and the Sun Shield that it held floats to the ground.
- Taking the sword causes three legionnaires to spawn from the ground. Beat them down and then head up the stairs to the left or right.
- The room at the top holds three chests, one with a Gorgon Eye.
- Return to the throne room and use the Sun Shield to open the door in the back.
-
The Throne Room
- Gorgon Eyes: 1, Phoenix Feathers: 1
]
- Save your game and loot the two chests in the room, then head up the stairs in the back of the room.
- Mini-cutscene: The spiral staircase leads up to the courtyard of the temple, where you spoke with Athena.
- Run up the stairs to the left and fight the enemies that spawn there, a couple of cats and some archers.
- Use the Sun Shield at the spot sparkling in the center of the platform to create a spiral staircase leading down. When you run into the room at the bottom, the door closes behind you.
- Run behind the pillars lining the left side of the room to find a red chest.
- Two statues stand on either side of the room. Push them forward until their staves enter the keyholes at the end of the room. An interactive beacon appears on the wall between the statues.
- Grab onto the handle in the wall and pull back with the analog stick. Two platforms appear. As soon as you let go of the handle, they begin to slide back into the wall. Move quickly and jump to the floor above.
- Use the Sun Shield to open the door behind the horse statue. You'll find two red chests.
- There's nothing else to do up here. Jump down to the floor below and pull out the two platforms again. Run around to the left side to find an alcove. Stand inside of it and the platforms push you into a new room.
- Run around to the right side of the platforms and all the way to the bottom of the screen. A concealed chest contains a Phoenix Feather.
- Two more statues stand on either side of the room. Pull them back as far as they will go to light the two symbols on the back wall.
- Jump onto the platform and stand in the glowing circle on the ground. Hit the L button to raise the Sun Shield and then mash the O button to redirect the beams of light to the symbol on the back of the platforms.
- Run back out into the first room and climb the platforms to the horse statue on the floor above. Use the Sun Shield on the statue to launch a mini-cut scene and create a stairway leading further down into the temple.
- Head down the stairs, grab the green chest, and then follow the corridor to the end. Another mini-cut scene shows you where you need to go.
- First, turn right and grab the Gorgon Eye. Then head through the doorway to enter the Caves of Olympus.
-
-
The Caves of Olympus
- Gorgon Eyes: 2, Phoenix Feathers: 1
]
- A mini-cut scene shows the path you need to follow, up a wall and to a statue on a cliff above.
- Save your game before jumping into the water. Then head to the right to find a Gorgon Eye and two red chests.
- Head back to climb the wall and grab Triton's Lance from the statue shown in the cut scene.
- Dive off the ledge into the water below. Just beneath the platform with the climbable wall, an interactive beacon is visible underwater. Press the Square button to dive under.
- Once underwater, swim to the far left for two chests. Then swim to the right, as far as you can. Look for some bars that have been pried open. Enter this alcove, then hold and release the R button to break through the set of bars concealed within.
- Follow the path until you come to a second set of bars. Bust through them and look for three chests concealed in alcoves, two red and one with a Phoenix Feather.
- Continue forward and break through two more sets of bars. You'll find yourself in the alcove with the lever that was visible before diving underwater.
- Pull the lever to open the gate in front of you and open a pathway in the rock wall above you.
- Climb up to the doorway that was just revealed to you in the mini-cut scene.
]
- Head through the door to meet a new enemy: the minotaur. You can't block his attacks. Either try to assault him from the air to avoid his strikes or let loose with combos to overwhelm him before he can hurt you too badly. A three button-press minigame finishes him off.
- Grab the chest on the right side of the room to replenish your health or magic. You probably need it after that fight.
- Continue into the alcove behind the minotaur's spawn point. Turn the crank counter-clockwise to extend a bridge so you can run to the far side of the chamber.
- Open the door and enter the room beyond.
- Cut scene: Eos entreats Kratos to find the remaining fire steeds, who will guide him to her fallen brother, Helios. She tells him to retrieve the fire in the cave to help him find the steeds.
- Grab the chest to left of Eos' platform and then continue up the path.
- The next room is filled with a pool that you can actually swim in. Hit the Square button to dive under and look for a chest containing a Gorgon Eye.
- Swim back up to the surface and continue following the path to dry land. Take out the legionnaires that spawn and head into the next room.
- Loot the green chest and save your game.
-
Guardians of the Fire
- Gorgon Eyes: 0, Phoenix Feathers: 1
]
- Walk up to the Primordial Fire and hit the O button to take it.
- You obtain the power of Helios Reflect, which you put to use immediately against the Guardians of Fire awakened by your pilfering. Hit the L button right as their fireballs are about to hit Kratos. They reflect back to the Guardian and destroy it. Defeating them grants you the Light of Dawn, a ranged attack.
- Use your new ranged attack to take down the enemies that spawn in the alcoves where the Guardians were standing.
- From the platform, run through the doorway on the left and turn left. You'll find a chest with a Phoenix Feather.
- Follow the corridor all the way to the other end for two red chests. Then head back to the corridor's halfway point and head through the doorway to the left.
- Open the door at the bottom of the path and head through. The door closes behind you. Jump off the ledge to fight the flaming swordsman waiting for you below.
- After taking them out, loot the two chests and then jump into the water. You should recognize this chamber. It's the entrance to the Caves of Olympus.
- Swim back to the beginning, save your game, and go through the door leading back to the Temple of Helios.

Return to Helios
- Gorgon Eyes: 0, Phoenix Feathers: 1
]
- After walking through the portal in the Caves of Olympus, Kratos now stands on a pedestal with a glowing orb in the center. Step up to the orb and press the O button to create a flaming stairway to the floor below.
- At the bottom, move to the left to find another flaming ramp.
- Head to the door and hit the O button to open it.
- From the balcony, head down the stairs to the circular platform in the center of the room and activate the orb. This time, harpies spawn on the platform as it moves upward.
- When the platform arrives, loot the two red chests and then head up the stairs.
- Go up the second set of stairs and grab the green chest. Then run to the bottom of the screen to reveal a second chest containing a Phoenix Feather.
- Don't forget to save your game.
-
Temple Courtyard
- Gorgon Eyes: 2, Phoenix Feathers: 1
]
- Use the Sun Shield to open the door. It closes behind you and a few enemies spawn in the room you've just entered, including a hyperion armor. Take out the armor first, since he's the most dangerous, and then finish off the grenadiers.
- Look in the bottom left corner of the room for a Gorgon Eye. Now run to the far end of the room and search the upper right corner for a red chest.
- A glowing orb floats in the center of the platform near the entrance. Stand beside it and hit the O button twice to create a beam of light.
- There are four covered alcoves along the walls, two on each side of the room. Grab the crank and turn the beam counter-clockwise. When the beam touches the alcove in the northwest, its doors open and reveal a statue within.
- Pull the statue to the bottom-left pressure plate, the one closer to the platform. Note that it has a shield facing west. You can hold and release the R button to kick the statue to move it faster.
- Back to the crank and turn the beam to light up the statue. It reflects the beam to light up the remaining statue on the left, who has a shield facing east.
- Move this second statue to the bottom-right pressure plate, directly across the platform from Statue #1.
- Use the beam to open the last two alcoves on the right.
- Now that you've gotten all the statues, you need to move them around a bit for the next part of the puzzle.
- First, the two statues already on floor switches need to be moved. Statue #1, with the west-facing shield, needs to be moved to the northeastern pressure plate. Statue #2, with the east-facing shield, needs to be moved to the northwestern pressure plate. They should be facing each other when you're done.
- Now move the two remaining statues on the southernmost pressure plate.
- With all four statues in place, a fifth statue rises from the floor, this one holding two shields. Head back to the platform and turn the beam of light so it points at this new statue.
- Head for the horse statue at the end of the room. The beams of light have created a glowing circle on the pedestal in front of it. Hop onto the pedestal and press the L button to raise the Sun Shield. Tap the O button to shoot a beam of light at the horse statue in front of you.
- Press O in front of the glowing orb you've just created to launch a mini-cut scene.
- The crank sinks back into the ground and the platform reverts to an ordinary elevator. Ride it back down to the bottom of the Temple.
- When the lift stops, run down the flaming ramp directly in front of you. Look to the left for a chest with a Phoenix Feather.
- Run back up to the platform and head down the ramp to the left for a red chest.
- The last ramp, the one to the right, leads to a door.
- Head up the corridor, loot the red chest, and continue to the left. Follow the path until you come to a staircase. Two chests, red and blue, stand in alcoves to the left and right.
- At the top of the stairs, you'll see a familiar room. Run behind the pillars to the right for a chest with a Gorgon Eye.
- Push the headless statue onto the glowing spot on the floor. Once it's in place, whack on it until it falls apart, revealing a glowing circle.
- Hop onto the statue and press the L button to raise the Sun Shield. Tap the O button to release a beam of light onto the horse statue on the level above.
- Climb the wall between the two statues. At the glowing orb in the base of the statue, press the O button to activate it.
- Move through the doorway that is now open to you and head outside. This area should look familiar as well.
- A pile of rubble has blocked the path and you can no longer climb up, so head down.
- Mini-cut scene: As Kratos reaches the base of the cliff, he hears the haunting melody of his daughter, Calliope.
- Dual-wielding legionnaires and some archers spawn at the end of the cut scene. They're easy enough to take down. Block their attacks if they come at you too fast and then keep them stunned with combos.
- Run over the bridge and head to the left when you get to the end. More enemies appear, including a few banshees. Take them out first since they are the biggest threat.
- Continue left and cross the second bridge. Save your game.

-
The Falls of Oceanum
- Gorgon Eyes: 2, Phoenix Feathers: 1
]
- Cut scene: Helios' steeds are now free, but there is no god to control them. They pull Kratos wildly through the skies as he clings to the platform with his Blades of Chaos. Memories of his past fill his mind. The fire steeds pull Kratos into the Underworld, but they are not welcome there and they revert to stone. Kratos plummets into Hades.
- From the save point, run toward the top of the screen. The wall here is climbable. Work your way around to the left and then onto the ceiling. Break the rocks blocking your path and continue to the other side. When your shadow is visible on the rock below, hit the R button to drop down. Note: The lava will kill you.
- Double jump over the lava onto another rock path on the right.
- Around the center of the path, look for a climbable ceiling. Follow it to the left for a red chest and a Gorgon Eye.
- Head back to the main rock and run to the end. A climbable wall is directly in front of you. Enemies spawn as soon as you jump to the wall. Use the Square button to kill them quickly as you move to the right.
- Jump across the gap in the wall, take out the new enemies that spawn, and continue up the wall.
- A gorgon spawns as soon as you reach the top. She is easy enough to kill, since you can take her out before she can use her stone attack. When she goes down, two more spawn. When you see them cast their stone beam, evade quickly to get away. If they hit you while you are stone, it's game over.
]
- Go through the doorway and run toward the bottom of the screen, where you'll find a statue blocking your way. Behind it is a climbable wall.
- At the bottom, double jump to the far ledge on the right. Follow the path for a chest with a Phoenix Feather.
- Backtrack to the doorway and head up the stairs. Continue forward to a clearing, where a tough fight awaits you: a legionnaire and two cyclops. The legionnaires keep spawning when you kill them, so focus on the cyclops. They're the biggest threat. Don't skimp on your evade rolls and be free with magic, as both Efreet and Solar Flare are good damage dealers.
- The fight isn't over when you kill the two cyclops. Enemies spawn for a while, including another cyclops, so be careful of your health.
- With that done, wipe your brow, and head onto the dais in the back to find a red chest behind a broken pillar.
- Run around the left side of the dais and jump to the ledge you'll find there. Your Cyclone of Chaos attack is very effective against the harpies here, as you can take out several at once before they even reach you.
- When you've cleared them out, run to the top of the screen and bash your way through the stone wall. You'll find a red chest and a Gorgon Eye.
- To the right of the chests, behind some rubble, is a large box. To reach it, run around to the other side and begin attacking the wall just in front of the red-flaming torch.
- Pull the box all the way to the right. Climb onto it to reach a ledge with a green chest.
- From there, jump to the second ledge and onto the climbable wall in the back. Move to the right, behind the waterfalls.
- Drop down to the ground below and take out the three legionnaires waiting for you.
- Move to the right side of the ledge and hit the O button to push down the shimmering pillar.
- Hop over the fallen pillar, grab the red chest to the left, and save your game.
-
Ruins of Asphodel
- Gorgon Eyes: 1, Phoenix Feathers: 1
]
- Use the fallen pillar to climb to the ledge by the save point.
- The wall to the left conceals a Phoenix Feather.
- Move to the wall to the right and climb to the ledge above.
- Run past the big tree and move forward. Two hyperions and some harpies spawn when you reach the end of the path. Take out the harpies first, avoiding the hyperions. Rampage of the Furies (L button and O) kills them with one blow. They re-spawn as you kill them, but keep at it and they eventually stop. Then focus on the hyperions.
- When you attack the hyperions, they surround themselves with a green shield and counterattack for notable damage. Evade when you see the shield go up. If you have Demon Inferno, level 2 Efreet magic, use it three or four times in a row to take them both out at once while barely taking a hit. If you're low on magic, lead them to the far end of the courtyard and then quickly loot the blue chest in the upper left.
- When the hyperions fall, a door at the beginning of the path unlocks. Loot the chests if you haven't already and then head for the door. You might want to jump down and save your game first since the save point is nearby.
- Follow the long path, run up the stairs and into the room at the top. The door closes behind you. Grab the two chests for some red orbs and a Gorgon Eye. If you've already collected all the Gorgon Eyes you can, their chests will now drop orbs instead.
- In the next room, you come against two more hyperions and some harpies. Use the same tactics as before to take them down. If you're low on magic, Plume of Prometheus does good damage. Avoid the blades flying across the floor.
- Run through the door in the upper right and head across the bridge. Loot the red chest and then save your game.
-
The Dock of Charon
- Gorgon Eyes: 0, Phoenix Feathers: 1
]
- Ring the bell to summon Charon, the ferryman who carries the dead across the river Styx.
- Cut scene: Unfortunately, Charon is not eager to ferry a living person into the land of the dead.
- Fight Charon as much as you want. When he reaches 50% health, he warps to the top of the ship and you cannot reach him. After he kills you, Charon drops your body over the side of the ferry and into the river.
- You awaken shackled to a wall. Break free and run back down the path to the save point shown in the mini-cut scene. Open the chest on the right for a Phoenix Feather and then save your game.

Imprisonment
- Gorgon Eyes: 0, Phoenix Feathers: 0
]
- If your health is low, you can kill your fellow prisoners for some green orbs. Note that you can break the giant chains for red orbs.
- Follow the corridor to a fork in the road. To the right is a room with some legionnaires and archers who torment you from a distance. Drag the legionnaires back out of the room to break line of sight with the archers. This also allows you to take them down one by one, since their path keeps them more or less tethered to the room.
- When you've cleared out the legionnaires, move to the archers. Halt your advance and raise your shield when you see them getting ready to fire. When you kill them, two more spawn.
- Loot the blue chest behind them and then head back to the fork in the road.
- The left fork leads you to a room with harpies. These are stronger than any you've encountered thus far. They aren't as easy to grab and they dive at Kratos from above and knock him to the ground. Cyclone of Prometheus is your best bet. If you gather a good bunch around you, use Efreet to blast them down.
- From this room, head up the corridor to the left. Replenish your health with the help of the prisoners along the way.
- Open the door at the end and enter the next room. The door closes behind you.
]
- Archers and legionnaires spawn. Run to the right and jump across onto the circular platform floating in the air. Kill the archer there and then take out legionnaires that try to attack you. Your Blades of Chaos can hit them with no problem, but they cannot reach you.
- Grab the chest and then jump back across to the main room. Stand in the middle of the three remaining archers and use Cyclone of Chaos to take them all down at once. Three more spawn. Rinse and repeat.
- Run over the chain bridge and save your game.
-
Temple of the Gods
- Gorgon Eyes: ?, Phoenix Feathers: ?
]
- Climb the wall behind the save point and beat up the enemies that spawn in your way.
- Follow it around and up to find a ledge with some harpies. These are the new and improved harpies, so take them down quickly. A gorgon appears after you've killed a few harpies. Use Efreet to hurt them all at once if they've got you surrounded.
- From where you climbed onto the ledge, run to the left for a chest. This might hold either a Gorgon Eye or Phoenix Feather, but at this point you should have already maxed your health and magic meters. So for you, it will probably contain some orbs.
- Head to the upper right corner of the room for a red chest.
- At the back of the room are three statues. Pull out the two on the left and right, Poseidon and Hades. A crank rises from the floor.
- Rotate the crank counter-clockwise as far as it will go. The statue of Zeus moves, revealing the entrance to another room.
- When you step into the room, the floor rotates. When it stops, exit and you will find yourself at the end of a corridor.
- Follow it to a new room whose doorway shuts behind you. Several archers and a minotaur spawns. Use the same tactic you used with the hyperion-harpy battle earlier. Take out the archers in one shot with Rampage of the Furies (L button plus O) while avoiding the lumbering minotaur. Eventually, they stop spawning and you can focus on the minotaur.
- A second minotaur spawns when you've downed the first, but there is enough time to loot the chest on the left side of the room between fights.
- Head to the doorway on the left and go up the stairs. A legionnaire awaits you at the top, as well as a save point.
-
The Crypt
- Gorgon Eyes: 1, Phoenix Feathers: 1
]
- From the save point, move to the wall to the right of the second staircase and bash it in.
- Move through the revealed opening and run toward the bottom of the screen to find a red chest.
- Now go back and flatten yourself against the wall and sidle along the small ledge to reach the right side of the room.
- Move about halfway down the wall and beat your way through. Grab the Phoenix Feather from the chest and pull the lever. This opens the gate to the room directly beneath you.
- Hop down and pilfer the two chests within.
- Run up the stairway in the back of this room. Four archers spawn as soon as you reach the top. Again, the fastest way to dispatch them is with Rampage of the Furies.
- Pull the lever at the back of the room and head through the gate. The chest at the top of the stairs holds a Gorgon Eye.
- Grab the Crypt keeper's Key from the wall.
- Stand in front of the throne and kick it to the floor below. Jump down after it.
- Pick up the corpse and place it on the pressure plate in the center of the room.
- A pedestal rises from the floor. Approach it and press the O button to place the Crypt keeper's Key in the keyhole. A bridge extends, allowing you to cross the gaping chasm to a room beyond.
- Two chests await you on the other side, one red and one Gorgon/Phoenix.
- Save your game and head into the Temple.
-
Temple of Zeus
- Gorgon Eyes: ?, Phoenix Feathers: ?
]
- Two hyperions spawn when you enter the room. Again, the easiest way to take them out is with three or four Efreets in a row.
- Stand in the very center of the room and hit the O button to pull down the statue of Zeus. Grab your new weapon. If you can, upgrade it, as it will be useful later on.
- Legionnaires immediately spawn, a good chance to test out your Gauntlet. Hold down the Square button to charge up the weapon. This shatters their shields and allow you to actually do damage.
- With the room cleared, backtrack across the bridge. Use the Gauntlet to break down the door that previously closed behind you.
- When you step through the doorway, a spiked gate falls from the ceiling and begins to move toward you. It's easy enough to avoid. Use the Gauntlet to break through the next wall blocking your path and the statue of Zeus that you rotated earlier.
- In this circular room, smash the Poseidon statue on the left for a Gorgon/Phoenix chest.
- Bust through the statue of Hades on the right and follow the path revealed to you.
- Open the door and head into the room to face some harpies.
- If your health is low, head across the chain bridge to the right for a green chest and a save point. Then head back across to where you fought the harpies.
- Look for a climbable wall in the rear left area of this room. Some shielded legionnaires and a couple of gorgons await you at the top. With upgraded Gauntlets, your biggest worry is being struck by the legionnaires after being turned to stone.
- When the last enemy falls, a crank rises from the floor. Grab the green and blue chests on the left side of the room, then turn the crank counter-clockwise as far as it will go. A platform lowers from the ceiling in the distance.
- Head back over the cliff and take out the legionnaires waiting at the bottom. Move across the chain and to the save point on the other side.

Jails of Tartarus

- After saving the game, go through the doorway on the left and move down the short corridor. Jump down into the room below.
- Several harpies and a cyclops await you here. Take out the harpies first and evade the cyclops' attacks. When they stop spawning, turn your attention to the cyclops.
- When the area is cleared, run to bottom right of the screen to find a hidden red chest.
- Move to the crank on the right side of the room and turn it counter-clockwise as far as it will go. Another platform lowers in the distance.
- The glistening rock on the left side of the room can be smashed with the Gauntlet of Zeus. With it destroyed, a crank rises from the ground. Turn it counter-clockwise and then head across the chain bridge you just created. Note the giant stone hand moving in the background.
- On the other side, jump to the platform that you lowered with the crank. Head through the doorway on the other side.
- Run up the short corridor and open the door at the end, which closes behind you.
- Take out the archers further inside the room, then head back to the door you entered through.
- Move into the next room and follow the short corridor, replenishing your health via the prisoners shackled to the walls.
- Mini-cut scene: Kratos sees what remains of the mighty Titans as the camera pans to a stone giant, held to the rock with mighty chains. Its chest can be seen moving as it breathes.
- After the cut scene, run toward the bottom of the screen to find a Gorgon/Phoenix chest.
- Move to the other end of the room and jump onto the climbable wall.
- When you're almost to the top, look for a path that leads left. Follow it and open the door that you find at the top. Grab the Gorgon/Phoenix chest on the left and then move to the very edge of the ledge.
- The camera flips to reveal a ladder leading to the floor below. You can press the X button to slide down. No less than three chests await you here, two Gorgon/Phoenix and one red.
- That done, backtrack all the way back to the climbable wall and move to the top this time.
- A minotaur spawns when you reach the top and archers on two distant platforms annoy you from a distance.
- When the minotaur dies, a crank rises from the floor, but you'll have a hard time turning it with the archers interrupting you. Use Light of the Dawn (R-button + Square) to pick them off. If you're low on magic, grab the blue chest on the left side of the room. When you run out of magic, use the Sun Shield's reflective ability to send the archers' arrows back at them.
- Break the rock covering the left crank with the Gauntlet of Zeus, then turn the crank counter-clockwise to lower a platform with a red chest.
- Turn the right crank to tighten a chain bridge that leads to a save point.

- Move through the doorway to the right of the save point. Follow the path and open the door at the end, which closes behind you.
- Several archers spawn as soon as you enter the room. One hit interrupts their shot. Don't forget to use your shield to deflect their arrows.
- Pull the two levers in the floor, then hop onto the climbable wall just to the right side of the right lever.
- Work your way up the wall and across the ceiling to the doorway opened by the levers. A green chest and a Gorgon/Phoenix await you in the next room.
- Head through the doorway at the other end of the room and pull the lever there. You've just loosened the chains shackling the Titan to the wall.
- Jump back down to the room with the two levers and head to the left, where the rock wall has now tumbled away.
- Mini-cut scene: Atlas has been freed from his chains.
- Move to the climbable wall on the right side of the ledge. Be prepared to fight some legionnaires. Follow the wall to the next ledge and save your game.
-
Chains of Atlas
- Gorgon Eyes: ?, Phoenix Feathers: ?
]
- From the save point, jump across to the circular platform in front of you. A couple of harpies spawn as soon as you land.
- Push the lever counter-clockwise to pull the platform along the chain. Some legionnaires and harpies spawn as you progress across. If you can push them off the platform, it is instant death for them.
- When the platform comes to a stop, hop onto the smaller cog on the left. Be careful, as it's difficult to gauge the perspective and you may accidentally jump to your death.
- Equip your Gauntlet of Zeus. Turn the lever on this new platform clockwise to move it along a second chain. Shielded legionnaires and harpies spawn along the way.
- When the cog comes to a stop, hop up the two ledges to the large spiked object. Mash the O button to launch the object across the chasm, taking a chain with it and creating a bridge for Kratos.
- Mini-cut scene: Kratos works his way up a very tall cliff.
- Hop onto the climbable wall directly behind you. Follow the path to a large courtyard with a shimmering alcove and two chests.
- The Gauntlet of Zeus busts out the rock in the alcove with one punch. You find yourself in a familiar arena. Harpies and two hyperions await you.
- There is a doorway on the left side of the room. Run to it and take out the harpies one by one. The hyperions are unable to follow.
- Stand inside the doorway and charge up Olympic Strike (L-button + Square), releasing it when the hyperions move in front of you. Then dart back inside the doorway and do it again. One or two strikes will kill them.
- Note: You can use the Gauntlet to destroy the shimmering parts of the wall and stop the blades from flying across the room.
- With your enemies defeated, head back into the circular room and to the doorway on the right side.
- Run across the bridge and save your game.
-
The Dock of Charon
- Gorgon Eyes: ?, Phoenix Feathers: ?
]
- Use the Gauntlet to break down the shimmering gate next to the save point. Your health and magic will be replenished completely.
- Run through the gate to trigger a cut scene with the ferryman, Charon.
- If you fought him before, be prepared, since he's a lot tougher this time around. Keep your shield up when Charon waves his scythe around. Then get in some quick punches and raise your shield again for the next round. Try not to begin combos that take too long to finish because you will be caught with your shield down when Charon initiates his next attack.
- When Charon takes enough damage, he melts into the ground and distances himself from you. He'll create green orbs and launch them at you. If you have good reflexes and time it just right, raise your shield and reflect them back at him. Otherwise try to evade or block them.
- After a while, Charon flees to the upper deck of the ship and begins recharging his health. Be quick and destroy one of the three shimmering pillars directly beneath him. This interrupts him and the phase two of the fight begins.
- Charon has a breath attack this phase, which stuns you for a few moments, leaving him free to whack you with his scythe. Keep yourself at a distance. Light of the Dawn is your friend here. When you see him begin to suck in his breath, go into evade mode.
- Again, Charon flees to the upper deck after a while. Destroy a second pillar to begin phase three.
- Charon now warps about the ship, sending out small shockwaves when he reappears. When he warps to the center of the deck, he sends out a much bigger shockwave that covers the whole deck. Right as he rises his scythe and it is at its highest point, double jump to avoid the shockwave. After the large shockwave, his scythe sticks in the grate for a second. This is your chance to get in some quick hits.
- After destroying the third pillar, press O near Charon to begin the final stage of the fight. With Charon impaled, look for his golden mask lying on the deck and hit the O button.
- Charon now floats above the deck and throws green orbs at you. Either reflect them with the Sun Shield or blast him down with Light of the Dawn.
- When he falls to the ground, press the O button to launch a button-press minigame. If you mess up, Charon floats back into the air and you have to bring him down again.
- Cut scene: Kratos rides the ferry deeper into Hades. In the distance, he sees his daughter Calliope standing amidst some ruins. Kratos picks up Charon's mask.
- After the cut scene, a few satyrs show up as test subjects for your new magic.
- Head down the ramp for a green chest and save point.

- Head into the building in front of you.
- Mini-cut scene: Calliope runs up a flight of stairs and a door closes behind her.
- Run toward the bottom of the screen for a Gorgon/Phoenix chest behind some pillars. Another chest lies behind the pillars on the other side of the room.
- Follow the path of Calliope, up the stairs, and open the door at the top.
- As soon as you run through the door, a sabercat and a few satyr grenadiers spawn. Charon's Wrath is your friend here. Freeze as many enemies as you can at once and then concentrate on the cat. As soon as it's dead, a second one appears.
- Look in an alcove on the left side of the room for a chest. At the bottom of the room, directly across from where you came in, is another alcove with two red chests.
- Head up the stairs to the right and open the two sets of doors at the top. You might want to equip your Gauntlet before heading inside the next room.
- Mini-cut scene: Calliope runs down the corridor.
- Immediately begin destroying the shimmering Gorgon heads on the walls. Like other Gorgons, they have a stone gaze that you want to avoid. So ignore the other enemies that spawn until they are all destroyed.
- Open the door at the end of the room, head up the stairs, grab the three chests, and save your game.

Chasing Calliope

- Head into the next room and up the stairs. There's another cut scene of Calliope giggling and running through a second set of doors ahead of you.
- Several harpies and a cyclops are waiting for you at the top of the stairs. Kill the harpies while evading the cyclops. When the first cyclops dies, two more spawn. Use Charon's Wrath to break through the their armor and beat them down with the Blades of Chaos. Quick single attacks followed by a speedy evade are more useful than combos here.
- Open the door on the left to reveal a room with two chests.
- Equip the Gauntlet and then head through the door on the right. Gorgon heads line the right wall and several waves of satyrs spawn. Use airborne Olympic Strike (jump, then L-button + Square) to quickly take out all the Gorgon heads and hurt the satyrs at the same time.
- Run into the next room and loot the green chest quickly if you need it. Three waves of enemies await you: two minotaurs, then several satyrs, then another minotaur. Airborne attacks, especially Olympic Strike, deal damage while keeping you out of reach.
- Head through the next door, down the long corridor, and through the door at the other end.
- Climb onto the elevator and turn the crank counter-clockwise. As you climb, notice a few sections with cracks in the wall. Ignore the first two since they only hide harpies. The third one holds a Gorgon/Phoenix chest.
- Several harpies and two Gorgons appear as soon as you reach the top. The Gorgons are your priority, of course. A cyclops spawns immediately afterward.
- Open the door on the right for two chests and then head through the door on the right for a save point.

- Head through the door beside the save point.
- Cut scene: Kratos enters a courtyard and meets Persephone, the queen of the Underworld and wife of Hades. He demands to see his daughter, Calliope, and is told that he must first prove himself worthy of Elysium. Persephone tells him, "Cast your weapons at the Forsaken Tree and let it release the evils of your past."
- Do as commanded and press the O button to launch your Blades of Chaos at the tree. Then move through the portal to enter Elysium.
- Cut scene: Kratos, a normal human once again, is reunited with his daughter. Persephone tells him that it was she who released Atlas and that he will soon destroy the pillar of the world. Kratos must become the Ghost of Sparta once again and defeat Persephone.
- Use the O button to kill the spirits running in the fields to slowly regain your weapons and powers. Take down the legionnaires that spawn. By now, you should have enough red orbs to have maxed all of your power ups.
- Run toward the top of the screen into a circular arena. Legionnaires, a sabercat, a hyperion armor, and some archers spawn, but it's nothing Olympic Strike can't handle.
- Grab the two chests and save your game.

Fields of Elysium

]
- Cut scene: Persephone transforms into an armored warrior. She launches herself into the sky and Kratos grabs onto her with the Blades of Chaos. They fly to the top of the tower, which Atlas is dutifully destroying.
- In phase one, stay constantly on the move to avoid the giant rock that Persephone continually hurls at you. The Blades of Chaos are dangerous because they keep you bogged down with long combos and quickness on your feet is key. The Gauntlet does effective damage while leaving you free to evade promptly. When her health reaches 50%, Persephone grabs Kratos. Tap the L and R buttons alternately to break free. As soon as the button prompts disappear, be ready for a button press minigame. You'll attack Atlas for a little bit and regain some health. If you die, don't despair. The beginning of each phase marks a checkpoint.
- Persephone remains airborne in the next phases and uses one of two ranged attacks. The first is a light beam, which can be avoided by running around the edge of the arena. Use the Sun Shield to reflect the blue projectiles she hurls at you, much like you did with Charon. This knocks her onto a pillar and allows you to hit her with the Blades of Chaos. Repeat this pattern twice.
- After knocking her from the air two times, Persephone begins to summon pillars of light from the ground. These do a fair amount of damage and stun you for a few seconds. A green and black circle appears on the ground to warn you where they will be, so avoid them. #Continue parrying the blue projectiles to knock her from the sky. She begins reflecting them back at you, so be ready with your shield. The number of projectiles you must reflect at her increases each time.
- Eventually, Persephone falls completely to the ground. Step into the glowing yellow spot on the ground, which you've probably already noticed. Hit the L button to raise the Sun Shield and then tap O repeatedly. As soon as the O indicator disappears, prepare for a final button press minigame. Congratulations! You've finished God of War: Chains of Olympus!
