Even though there are some tips and tricks to make the game easier, there are no known hacks for God of War 3 that are confirmed to work. There is a glitch, allowing users to skip part of the game on their second play-through, and there are several tips to make parts of the game easier to master, including obtaining the 1000-hit combo trophy.

The God of War 3 game contains a 'hidden', undocumented feature. After inserting the disc, don't start up the game. Go to the 'Video' section of the Playstation 3 menu. When selecting the disc, you'll get a "trailers" option. Selecting this option allows you to watch trailers of Heavy Rain, Mod Nation Racers, Grand Turismo 5 and MAG.

The God of War 3 Platinum Trophy is reported to point to a mysterious webpage, called "Spartans Stand Tall". The webpage currently has little information on it, showing a gray background with rain splattering on it, and round image on the right top, resembling a shield. The shield has a ring around it, which is currently filled red for one quarter.

There are ten Godly Possesions locations. Each location gives you an extra ability, and collecting them all earns you a Gold trophy. The posessions can only be unlocked after the game is finished. Using the Godly Possessions will disable any additional trophy achievements.

There is an actual glitch, which allows players to open doors with weapons they don't actually own yet, allowing them to break through doors, skipping entire sections of the game.

This is how it works:

1. Beat the story line once and then clear the Challenges of Olympus mode. This unlocks the Combat Arena.
2. When in the Combat Arena screen, set Kratos’ Health to “Level 1” and difficulty to “Titan.” Next, Set the Enemies option to easily killable creatures, and start the battle.
3. Inside the Combat Arena, allow yourself to be killed. After five times, you get the option to switch to Easy mode, which you deny by selecting “No”. Exit to the main menu.
4. Now things go wrong, and you can hear two sound tracks playing simultaneously. Also, you'll get the Maxed Out! trophy, if you didn’t have it.
5. Now, start a new game from the main menu on any difficulty. You will now have all weapons and upgrades right at the start of the game.
