Overview
There are four reason God is not Great claims religion harmful to mankind. They include a misrepresentation of science and human origin, an overwhelming suppression of basic human instinct, the teaching of humans to blindly submit to authority and the negative reaction to open curiosity. Critical Reception
- "Hitchens has outfoxed the Hitchens watchers by writing a serious and deeply felt book, totally consistent with his beliefs of a lifetime." - Michael Kinsley, New York Times
- "The same contrarian spirit that makes him delightful reading as a political commentator, even (or especially) when he's completely wrong, makes him an entertaining huckster prosecutor once he has God placed in the dock." - Publishers Weekly
