Goblets

Categories: Products | Kitchen | Etiquette
  • A goblet, also known as a chalice, is a large rounded cup set atop a thin handle, intended to hold a drink. It is often used in religious ceremonies.
  • History

Goblets were available centuries before the first glass goblet was made. Glass goblets were first produced in the 1840s after a pressed glass technique was developed in the early 1800s.
  • Buying Guide

Crystal and glass are the most common materials used to make goblets.

Crystal is more expensive and delicate. It should not be washed in a dishwasher and requires regular polishing. For a set of two prices start at $50. Glass is considerably cheaper starting at only seven dollars per set for smaller goblets.

Both materials can be engraved to commemorate a wedding or big event.
