Glens Falls, New York is located in the United States. It was founded in 1763 and incorporated as a city in 1908. It is located in the northeastern corner of the state in a bend area of the Hudson River.

The industry of Glens Falls is based on lumber, limestone, black marble and water power. Many lumber mills are built along the river in the city. The limestone is used in the manufacturing of portland cement. Abraham Wing founded the settlement in 1763. Wing headed a group called Quakers. The town was originally called Wing’s Falls, but was changed to Glens Falls because of a debt. The area was along the route used during the French and Indian War, and in the path of the British army on their journey to Saratoga in the Revolutionary War.
