Glenn Beck accused President Barack Obama of being a racist while he was a guest on the Fox and Friends morning show on July 28, 2009. Beck was discussing the Professor Gates controversy when he claimed Obama had proven to be a "guy who has a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture..."
Host Brian Kilmeade said that Obama has many white people in his administration but Glen said, "I'm not saying he doesn't like white people, I'm saying he has a problem, This guy, I believe, a racist."
On March 9, 2010, fellow Fox News personality suggest that Obama was racist. Hannity, after commenting on Beck's statement back in the summer of 2009, said "When the president hangs out with Jeremiah Wright for 20 years, I'm -- can one conclude that there are issues with the president?"http://mediamatters.org/research/201003100033
Fox news owner Rupert Murdoch was asked about Beck's comment during a November 2009 interview with an Australian editor from Sky News, David Speers. Murdoch, when asked if Fox pundits likening Obama to Stalin was defensible, said, "No, no, no, not Stalin, I don't think. I don't know who that -- not one of our people. On the racist thing, that caused a [unintelligible]. But he did make a very racist comment, about, you know, blacks and whites and so on, and which he said in his campaign he would be completely above. And, you know, that was something which perhaps shouldn't have been said about the president, but if you actually assess what he was talking about, he was right."http://mediamatters.org/research/201003100033
