  • Early Years

    Prior to his NHL days, Metropolit played in the East Coast Hockey League with the Nashville Knights, starting in 1995. On July 19, 1999, he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Washington Capitals. Metropolit made his NHL debut that same year, going on to split his first couple seasons between the Capitals and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Portland Pirates. Following the 2000-01 season Metropolit was waived, then picked up by the Tampa Bay Lightning. The following month he was waived again, going back to the Capitals.
  • Recent Years

    Metropolit was waived yet again in 2003, when he was picked up by the Ottawa Senators. He then took a few years away from the NHL, playing in the SM-liiga in Sweden and the National League A in Switzerland. Metropolit returned to the NHL in 2006, signing as a free agent with the Atlanta Thrashers. Just a few months later he was traded to the St. Louis Blues, where he completed the 2006-07 regular season. He entered free agency during the off season and signed with the Boston Bruins on October 3, 2007. Metropolit then signed as a free agent with the Flyers on July 1, 2008.
