Gladys Knight is a soul singer and actress. She is famous for her Motown hits from the 1960s and 1970s with her group Gladys Knight & the Pips. Since 1978, she has also released nine solo albums. Knight was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and her 1973 #1 hit with the Pips, "Midnight Train to Georgia" remains her signature track (though she did not write it).
