Gizmodo is a popular technology weblog owned by Gawker Media. The blog covers the latest in gadget and electronics related news from around the world. Originally created and managed by Peter Rojas, the web site is now run by Brian Lam. Rojas left Gizmodo to create its main competitor Engadget, increasing a long-standing rivalry between the two web sites.
In a discussion of tech trends in the current economy published on March 2, 2009, Gizmodo features editor Wilson Rothman described decreased interest on Gizmodo in high-end tech items and increased interest in Dealzmodo, the discounted section of the site.CNN: In a recession, tech gadgets become a luxury (March 2, 2009)
