GitHub hosts public and private source code repositories, using the Git source code management system. Free users may upload up to 300MB of data to the service. GitHub offers premium plans which offer more storage, private repository hosting, and SSL access. GitHub has a strong community focus, allowing users to easily fork repositories, creating a copy of the repository that can be merged back into the main repository in the future.
