  • Girija Prasad Koirala is the current Prime Minister and acting head of state for Nepal. Koirala's current term is his non-consecutive fourth as Prime Minster. He leads the reformist Nepali Congress party which recently lost majority control in the parliament after the 2008 general elections. He has receded somewhat from the political world because of increasing health problems.
