Giraffe

Giraffes, long-necked ungulates native to savanna regions in Africa, are the world's tallest land-dwelling mammals.

Unique Neck

Giraffes' long necks and tongues allow them to reach leaves on branches that are out of reach of other herbivores. Like humans, giraffes have seven vertebrae in their necks, although each of a giraffe's vertebrae may be up to ten inches long.San Diego Zoo: Mammals: Giraffe
