Rock singer Gina Glocksen was a contestant on the sixth season of the hit reality singing competition American Idol. She came in ninth place.

Glocksen married long-time boyfriend and science teacher Joe Ruzicka on New Year's Eve 2008.Fox News: Idol Star to Wed Tonight (December 31, 2008) They became engaged the year before during the American Idols summer tour.

From the age of seven, Glocksen starting singing to whoever would listen. She worked as a dental assistant before auditioning for Idol, and played in the cover band Catfight.

Glocksen tried out for seasons five and six of American Idol. In season five, she was cut on the last day of auditions in Hollywood. Her boyfriend Joe Ruzicka convinced her to try out a second year, showing his support by putting pink streaks in his hair that matched hers. This time she made the finals and eventually finished in ninth place. After the conclusion of the show, she hit the road with the American Idols Tour 2007, joining the other nine finalists from season six. While on tour, Ruzicka proposed to Glocksen onstage, and she accepted.

Glocksen went on to co-host American Idol Extra alongside season four contestant Constantine Maroulis. The show highlights the current season of Idol and presents interviews of guest stars and eliminated contestants, spoilers, and gossip about the contestants. The show airs on FOX Reality.

Glocksen released an EP on iTunes, but the songs have since been deleted.
