Technology Based Products

Gillette backs its products with research and has a long history of razors based on scientific study. The next generation in shaving gel, according to the Gillette website, has a proprietary blend of hydrating emollients and lubricating ingredients which create a protective blanket. By softening the facial hair and hydrating the skin beneath, Gillette avoids tugging the hair and provides a smoother glide for the blade.http://www.gillette.com/en/us/products/gillette-science.aspx

These can be followed with the next generation of after shaves, which are non-greasy and contain cooling agents, moisturizers and skin calmers. These are quickly absorbed to help seal in the natural moisture of the skin.http://www.gillette.com/en/us/products/gillette-science.aspx

Gillette History

The Gillette Company was originally founded in 1895, in Boston, Massachusetts. Originally a manufacturer of safety razors, by 1908, Gillette had expanded the use of its trademarked name to shaving soaps and shaving lathers.

Procter & Gamble purchased the Gillette Company in 2005. In 2007, Procter & Gamble stopped operating Gillette as a wholly owned subsidiary and absorbed its existing line of products into its Procter & Gamble Beauty Division. Since then, products such as Gillette shaving cream are merely brands under the Procter & Gamble umbrella of products.
