The Gillette Fusion Power is a hand held razor manufactured by Gillette that uses battery power to create vibrating micro pulses while shaving. It was the world's first five blade razor when introduced, and was also the first to combine blades on both the front and the back of the cartridge.http://www.pg.com/product_card/prod_card_main_gillette_fusion.shtml A variety of different versions and colors have been released, including the Phenom, Phantom and Chrome series.
Features and Functions
The Fusion Power razor has five blades on the front of the disposable cartridge, along with a Lubrastrip that changes from blue to white as the blades become less sharp. It also has a large, flexible comfort guard below the blades. On the back of the cartridge is a single blade placed at an angle for beard and sideburn trimming.
The Fusion Power also claims to deliver a smooth shave with less irritation due to the built in micro pulse vibrating feature that helps the blade glide along the skin. This feature is controlled and monitored by a microchip, which is another industry first.http://freestuffpage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8684
Reviews
I would recommend Fusion Power for its closer shave. It takes fewer strokes to complete the job, saving me time and reducing skin irritation. With soft handle grips, the handle is comfortable to hold and maneuver around the contours of my face. - FreeStuffPage.comhttp://freestuffpage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8684
It looks very cool. I really like the orange and grey/silver meme that has been going through design the past few years. If anyone watches you shave, they will be impressed seeing you with this. However, I, for one, typically shave alone so this isn't worth much. - Christiaan Huygens, Amazon.comhttp://www.amazon.com/Gillette-Battery-Powered-Shaving-1system/dp/B000BUW8WM
History of Shaving
The history of shaving dates back thousands of years to prehistoric man. Of course, the first razors had little resemblance to the sleek, metallic shaving tools that we know today. In fact, the earliest known shavers were crafted from flint knives and clamshells, with shark's teeth making an appearance as well. The 4th Century Egyptians were more sophisticated than their cave-dwelling ancestors, and they had razors made from gold and copper (which have been found in ancient tombs). The Romans used iron razors, or simply exfoliated facial hair using a pumice. The modern razor design was invented in 1847 by William Henson, and this was fitted with a double-edged, disposable blade by none other than King Camp Gillette, a salesman who was responsible for forming the Gillette empire.http://www.cnn.com/2009/LIVING/08/17/mf.shaving/index.html
