Gillette is a Procter & Gamble's popular brand for the safety razors and other numerous types of personal hygiene products.Originally it was part of The Gillette Company that was established by King Camp Gillette in 1895 as a safety razor manufacturer. In 2005 it was purchased by the consumer goods company Procter & Gamble. Gillette became popular thanks to its innovations within the safety razors's domain and thanks to the use of a efficient business model known as freebie marketing. The company is generally known as the inventor of the safety razor but in fact Gillette introduced the innovation of disposable blades accompanied by many other improvements over the years as the Sheraton razor with the TTO razor system of 1938 (Twist To Open - which allowed the exchange of blades easier), the razor with adjustable level of shave of 1958, the new model of 1971 with two blades-called Trac II, the model with pivoting head of 1977 called Atra and the famous Gillette Sensor of 1990 with spring-loaded blades.
