Giles is the design house of British fashion designer Giles Deacon. The label incorporates bold styles into wearable cocktail dresses as well as a full line of women's clothing.
Early Career
Deacon graduated from Central Saint Martins College in 1992 and immediately designed album covers for Beth Orton and created illustrations for the magazine Dazed and Confused.
He worked for the luxury leather goods maker, Bottega Veneta and then under designer Tom Ford at Gucci.
Stranger Than Fiction
Deacon landed his job at Bottega Veneta during an interview with founder Laura Moltedo, which took place in the bed of her hotel room at the George V Hotel in Paris. While looking through Deacon's portfolio, Moltedo was particularly impressed with a photo of a parakeet driving a Rolls-Royce.
The Buzz
He has designed clothes for celebrities such as Thandie Newton, Drew Barrymore, Scarlett Johansson and Linda Evangelista.
In His Own Words
"Customers for my own Giles line are twenty-somethings to sixty-somethings and it can vary from people buying for a special occasion or as an investment piece."
