  • Features

The biggest feature of the Gibson Robot Guitar is the onboard computer that tunes the instrument automatically. While it is not the first self-tuning guitar, it is the most highly advanced model. The system is based on the popular Powertune system using Gibson's Tune-O-Matic style bridge. The computer analyzes signals from each string and uses individual tuners to correct each string to give it the proper sound.

The internal tuner runs on a rechargeable battery housed within the guitar. The battery is good for 200 tunings before needing to be recharged. The guitar can also be tuned manually (like regular guitars) by disabling the tuning button and reactivating the system once the adjustments are made.

The guitar is endorsed by several famous guitarists, including Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins and Muse guitarist Matthew Bellamy.
