GI Joe The Rise of Cobra Introduction
- After the events of the film, Duke and Scarlett travel to the Arctic to free Heavy Duty, Ripcord and Snake Eyes from the M.A.R.S Detention Center and ultimately defeat the Baroness, Firefly, Destro, the COBRA Commander and Storm Shadow. The Rise of Cobra is your basic run and gun video game with a few twists.

- Both the Joes and COBRA characters are dispatched in teams of two. You have the ability to switch control between characters with the use of a teleporter. Also, each playable character has a melee attack, a regular shooting attack, and a special attack. These can be used by collecting and using one of three special combat charges located near the character's accrued points.
- There are three types of character classes in the game: Heavy, Commando and Combat Soldier. Heavies tend to be good at blowing things up, Commandos are good for close range fighting, and Combat Soldiers. In addition to having combat strengths and weaknesses, each type of character is also specifically designated to open specific special doors.
- Another special feature of the game is the Accelerator Suit. These enhance the wearer's physical abilities when they are activated, e.g., faster running, immunity to damage, and unlimited missile attacks.
- Battle Points are used within the game to purchase unlocked characters. Points are earned by defeating enemies or hitting power-up items. The Battle Points are then calculated at each checkpoint or end of a mission. Missions must be completed before Battle Points are permanently added to your bank. The same is true for any collectibles obtained throughout the game.

- NOTE: Begin the game with two playable characters: Scarlett and Duke. You will be able to unlock more characters as you play through the game on either of the three modes: Casual, Advanced and Hardcore.
- Assemble your party.
- Begin your journey through Bear's Paw Canyon.
- NOTE: This first mission functions as a tutorial, introducing you to the controls, moves and conditions of the game.
- Continue up.
- Encounter resistance from the M.A.R.S. mechanical sentries and foot soldiers.
- Take the Black Viper File card.
- Go after the M.A.R.S. soldiers with the energy shield.
- NOTE: The shield absorbs gunfire, so you will need to rifle butt them to the head.

- Continue to break through the enemy defenses to get to the first of three checkpoints in the mission.
- NOTE: Obtain Battle Points at each checkpoint. The Battle Points are not permanent until the entire mission is completed.
- Make your way up the snowy path until you reach a force field.
- Cut the power supply generated by the two generators.
- Head off to the left.

- Battle your way to the first generator.
- TIP: It looks like a large egg.
- Once you have taken care of the first generator, make your way to the nearby second generator.
- Pick up the M.A.R.S. Security Trooper Fire card.
- Once the two generators are destroyed, the force field is deactivated and the enemy arrives.
- Equip your team with Accelerator Suits for hyperstrength mode, faster speed and quick, accurate shooting.
- Continue past the inactivated force fields.
- Locate the M.A.R.S. Shield Technology Intel to the left behind the outcropping.
- Continue towares the turret while firing.
- Proceed to the heavily guarded steel doors to the fortress where you will find the second of three checkpoints.
- To the left of the doors is a Holding Pen File card.
- Use the control panel to the right to open the doors and gain access to the fortress.

- NOTE: Dial Tone has pinpointed the location of the captured Joe.
- Head over behind the barricades off to the right.
- Locate the Ripcord Location Intel briefcase.
- Continue to the left towards the large satellite.
- Take care of the enemies.
- Interact with the control panel to buy more time for Dial Tone.
- Circle the H.I.S.S. Tank that appears to dodge its attacks.
- Keep firing your infinite ammo supply until you clear the third checkpoint.
- NOTE: Heavy Duty is added to your arsenal of playable characters once you have successfully completed the mission. You can exchange him for use on your Team Roster for six Battle Points.

- Start by fighting the defensive units of the holding facility.
- Continue forward to the glowing circle.
- Activate air support from Wild Bill.
- Proceed to the forest area.
- Enter the forest for the first of three checkpoints.
- The enemies in the forest are armed with shotguns with visible shrapnel.

- Once you get to the last wall of defense before the Detention Center you are inundated with armed soldiers, turrets and laser turrets emerging from the fortress.
- Use the provided cover to shield your team from enemy fire.
- Once you successfully get to the center you are at the second of the three checkpoints.
- NOTE: You must now destroy the two generators and satellites to move past the force fields.
- Take the M.A.R.S. Defense Wall File card.
- Head to the center of the area.
- Blow up the generators and satellite.

- Breaker hacks the M.A.R.S. teleportation device that swaps Joes in and out of the battlefield.
- Find the Snak Eyes Location Intel to unlock a bonus mission.
- Continue past the Intel to the front of the fortress.
- Grav the Joe Snow Cat File card near the Snow Cat.
- Get in the Snow Cat.
- Aim for the three towers with the generators: two near the front and the remaining one in the back.

- Find the JOE Tanks Intel by the third tower.
- Find the Detention Center File card by the large doors.
- Destroy the two barracks to prevent enemy soldiers from repeatedly spawning.
- Shoot the Power Coils on each side of the door until enough energy is supplied to power up the switch to the automated doors.
- You have reached the third of the three mission checkpoints.

- Spot the homing missile device in the center of the room that Breaker indicates,
- Quickly blast them before they reach their target... YOU!
- Take cover behind the defensive barriers to dodge the COBRA soldiers and ceiling mounted turret.
- Locate the M.A.R.S. Security Officer File card to the immediate right of the room entrance.
- Stay behind cover until each wave of enemies has been eliminated.
- Continue into the corridor.
- Meet up with the red ninjas.
- Have Duke unlock the door off to the side.

- Get the COBRA Nanomite Intel.
- Take out the enemies coming in from the alcove to the left.
- Shoot up the objects in the alcove.
- Retrieve the Red Ninja File card from the rubble.
- First of three checkpoints is reached.
- Taka out wave after wave of incoming enemies.
- Disable the force fields.
- Activate the two panels to gain entry through the side door.

- Have Heavy Duty open the special door.
- Retrieve the Serpent Battle Armor Intel inside as well as clearing checkpoint two of three.
- Continue through the short corridor.
- Locate Storm Shadow in the next room.
- Activate Accelerator Suits to fight him.
- Unload the special rockets to dispatch him quickly and receive the Storm Shadow File card.
- The mission ends when you get Ripcord.

- Break through the barricade.
- Plod through the snow, dealing with enemies as you go.
- Watch out for homing missile traps buried under the snow.
- TIP: You can spot these by listening for warning beeps.
- Prepare for the large tank to try to stop your progress.

- Avoid its fire and continue while the bullets fly around you and overhead.
- Continue to the small prison.
- Take out the generator next to the prison.
- Use the control panel to open the door to the M.A.R.S. base, obtain Storm Shadow Training Pt 1 Intel and clear your first of three checkpoints.
- Suit up with your Accelerator Suits.
- Take cover behind the single wall and pop out between shots to take down the gunship that is after you.
- Use any specials at your disposal.
- Once the ship leans from side to side, it deposits some foot soldiers.
- Kill the foot soldiers before the gunship reappears.

- Take out the two generators in the back to inactivate the force field.
- Locate the COBRA Gunship File card near the generators.
- Continue past the inactivated force field and locate the Flyers Intel.
- Proceed to the deactivated control panel.
- Look for Power Coils on top of a building in the area.
- Find the Snow Job File card on the ground nearby.
- Access the control panel for the second of your three checkpoints.
- Have Duke bypass the nearby door.
- Find Gung Ho, one of the available unlockable characters.

- Continue to the satellite laser.
- Guide the target reticle over the enemies.
- Fire normally to take care of whatever you can get within its blast.
- Protect the device on the ground.
- Prepare to fight off five waves of enemies. Each wave has increasingly more enemies within it.
- Take out any tanks within the waves as soon as you see them.
- Get the nearby Satellite File card.
- Proceed down the linear path and locate the Launch Site Confirmation Intel.

- Use the teleportation device to swap to a commando character.
- NOTE: The character you select must be able to access the door for you to recover the Joe Vehicles Intel.
- Continue forward after the door is opened.
- Use a Heavy Weapons character to open the next special door.
- This earns you the Snow Job Intel.#Destroy the generator next to the force field to deactivate it.
- Proceed until you encounter some heavy resistance.
- NOTE: Soldiers also will continue to spawn while you fight off the existing soldiers.

- Get the Teleport Device File card.
- Continue through the open gate.
- Destroy the three silos.
- TIP: Look for the circular launch pads and take out the accompanying devices.
- Locate the M.A.R.S. Weapons Facility File card to the right of the area.
- Find the COBRA H.I.S.S. Modern File card to the left of the exit upon your return.
- Checkpoint one of two is complete.

- Arrive on the helipad and meet the Baroness and her entourage.
- She will retreat as soon as her health is the slightest bit diminished to let her guards take care of the fight.
- Once all of her guards are destroyed, she will return with a red COBRA insignia.
- Use any specials at your disposal to force her to retreat.
- Continue this process until she surrenders.
- This earns you the Baroness File card and the second of two checkpoints is completed.

- Proceed ahead and veer to the right.
- Locate the first generator behind the fence.
- Continue along through the snow until you encounter some red ninjas.
- Use melee attacks to take down the ninjas.
- Take care of the standard assault troops next, followed by the flight pods within their bulletproof enclosures.
- Continue fighting your way through enemy troops to take care of each generator until you reach the final one.
- Take it out to deactivate the force field.
- Activate the green circle ahead to drop the Snow Cat.
- Use the Snow Cat's heavy artillery to take out any tanks and turrets in the area.

- Locate the teleporter in the far left corner near the trees.
- Switch to Scarlett.
- Open the door near the teleporter.
- Locate the Flight Pod Missile File card.
- Continue to the front entrance.
- Ativate the control panel to enter the Bio Lab and complete the first of three checkpoints.

- Watch out for the ceiling mounted turrets in the Bio Lab.
- Take care of the lab security personnel you encounter.
- Find the next teleporter next to a special door.
- Switch to Duke to open the door.
- Find the Lift Ticket File card with an impassable force-field enforced security door.
- Retreat a few steps.
- Enter the room that splits into two separate rooms.
- NOTE: This room is protected by force fields.
- Destroy the generators.
- Access the control panel.
- Drain the Bio tanks.
- Return to the corridor.
- Find the newly opened doorway that is spawning new enemies.
- Take care of the enemies to complete the second of three checkpoints.

- Demolish any computers in the room.
- Obtain the Drop from Above Intel.
- Clear out all of the remaining enemies as well as any newly spawning enemies.
- Take the elevator platform to the second floor.
- Take out several waves of enemies.
- TIP: It is easiest and fastest to melee attack these enemies and knock them off the platform.
- When take care of all of the enemies, locate and rescue Snake Eyes and clear the third checkpoint.
