Ghostbusters

  • Ghostbusters is a Ivan Reitman-directed comedy in which three New York City parapsychologists (Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis) become ghost exterminators in order to help clean up the city's paranormal problem. Released in 1984, the movie went on to become a smash hit and one of the top grossing films of that year. It also helped establish Saturday Night Live alumni Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray as reliable box-office draws. The movie also featured the massively popular titular theme song, written and performed by Ray Parker Jr., which went on to hit #1 on the U.S. charts and earned an Academy Award nomination for "Best Original Song."
