Ghost Trappers is a Facebook passive game. It was created by Andi Huller a developer in Munich, Germany. The game is a take off of Fish Wrangler or Mousehunt. The game setting is Scotland. You work for an organization called Secret Corporation of Trapping Castle Hauntings, or S.C.O.T.C.H. You are a Ghostbuster. In order to bust the ghosts you only need to take their picture. You pick a location set a trap and bait it. As everybody knows the bait for ghosts is SCOTCH. Different varieties have different capture rates and in some cases special abilities. Periodically you check your trap to see what you have caught.
Ghost Trappers Gameplay
You start the game with a basic trap. Every trap has 2 pieces the trap and mystical circle (usually made of candles). Your first trap only has a physical portion and cheap white candles. Next you have to buy bait. The cheapest is a blended scotch. The games currency is in British Pounds.
The locations are broken up by regions of Scotland. Each region has several locations. Each location except the first has to be purchased. The first castle you start in has only minor ghosts and are easily attracted to your blended scotch. Initially you can check your trap every couple of minutes. After you get to a certain amount of XP you are switched to the default every 15 minutes that most passive games work on. There are some types of scotch and some traps that actually decrease your wait time however.
There are several special events. There are common events where everybody in the game contribute to a goal. There are sometimes special events where you complete against a clock to catch a certain number or type of ghost.
Other things to find are parts for traps and various bottles of scotch not offered for sale anywhere.
