The trailer for the comedy film Ghost Town appeared on the movie's official website in July 2008. The trailer shows a near-death experience leaving a cynical, unfriendly dentist, Dr. Bertram Pincus (Ricky Gervais), with the unnerving ability to see ghosts. One of the ghosts, Frank Herlihy (Greg Kinnear), asks Pincus to help him stop his widow, Gwen (Tea Leoni), from remarrying.
