The German spitz is one of the oldest dog breeds to originate from Central Europe. The breed is available in three sizes giant, standard and toy. They are long-haired and can be solid gray, black, brown or white. Many people loosely associate the breed with the American Eskimo dog.
Health Problems
Although a generally healthy breed, German spitz dogs may have eye problems. They do not require grooming, but regular brushing is recommended to prevent matting.Dog Breed Info Guide: German Spitz Standard
Sports or Activities
Pure-bred German Spitz dogs are commonly shown competitively and may compete in agility and obedience events. They can live comfortably in apartments or homes with smaller yards, but do need daily exercise.
