  • Geraldo Rivera is an American journalist, talk show host, and attorney best known for The Geraldo Rivera Show, Geraldo at Large, and a television special called The Mystery of Al Capone's Vault. Since beginning his television career in the early 1970s, he has worked for ABC, NBC, and the Fox News Channel covering such stories as the impeachment of President Clinton, the Iraq War, and the Michael Jackson trial. Known for his melodramatic persona, he has often been the source of both controversy and inspiration throughout his carrer, providing comedic material for such shows as Saturday Night Live and The Daily Show.
  • War Coverage Controversies

    During the first months of the war in Afghanistan, Rivera filed a report in which he claimed to be at the scene of some friendly fire. It was later revealed that the incident occurred more than 300 miles away.

    During the begining stages of the Iraq War, Rivera was embedded with the 101st Airborne Divison. During a broadcast, Rivera revealed troop movements by drawing lines in the sand, showing where an attack was about to take place. The military denounced Rivera's broadcast, saying that he put the soldiers at risk, and revoked his media pass.
