The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Men’s Basketball team is a part of the Atlantic Coast Conference in NCAA Basketball. Home games are played at the Alexander Memorial Coliseum on the Georgia Tech University campus in Atlanta, Georgia. http://ramblinwreck.cstv.com/genrel/032102aaa.html Head coach Paul Hewitt has been with the team since April 6, 2000. Yellow Jackets 2009-10 Season

The Yellow Jackets achieved a record of 22 wins and 12 losses during the 2009-10 season. Key players during the year included Gani Lawal, who averaged 13.1 points a game, and Derrick Favors, who added 12.5 points per game. Despite being ranked seventh in the ACC, the team was able to play in the ACC Tournament. Georgia Tech was able to advance all the way to the ACC Tournament Finals, but lost to the Duke Blue Devils by a score of 65 to 61.http://search.espn.go.com/yellow-jackets/

Because of the Yellow Jackets’ performance during the ACC Tournament, the team was selected to play in the 2010 NCAA Tournament, ranked tenth in the Midwest Region. Georgia Tech opened its first round with a game against the seventh-ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys on Friday, March 19, 2010. The game was played at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Yellow Jackets History

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have appeared in the NCAA Tournament 15 times. They first made it to the Tournament in 1960 and advanced to the regional semifinal before losing to the Ohio State Buckeyes. In 2004, Georgia Tech advanced all the way to the NCAA Championship Game but was defeated by the University of Connecticut.
