The University of Georgia plays college football in the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference. The program has won two national championships in their history, in 1942 and 1980. There have been two Heisman Trophy winners in school history, Frank Sinkwich in 1942 and Herschel Walker in 1982. Eleven former players have been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. The Bulldogs play their home games at Sanford Stadium in Athens.
