Was at the gym to lift. Very crowded. Tomorrow should be good. There is a woman there that gives me a certain look every time I am there. I decided to walk over and make a comment about the crowds but she left when I finished the exercise. Better that I do not get sidetracked from tomorrow's plan anyways. Life is just playing games. One or two dates with her, then the end. No matter how many changes I try to make, things stay the same. Every evening I am alone, and then go to bed alone. Young women were brutal when I was younger, now they aren't as much, probably because they just see me just as another old man.
I see twenty something couples everywhere. I see a twenty something guy with a nice twentyish young women. I think those years slipped right by for me. Why should I continue another 20+ years alone? Anyone who professes to trust and in and believe in Jesus Christ knows that Jesus did pay for all of our sins but willfully going against God's commandments in knowing this is not trusting in him..

I am deeply saddened for all that were involved and who lost there lives and were hurt I can only pray that Jesus will be glorified through this.

I'm sure George is not alone in his thoughts. And he doesn't seem crazy -- just desperately, desperately alone. People are so self-absorbed that they can't spot a hurting soul standing, sitting, working or living right next to them. It appears this was true in George's case. Even the commenters here seek blessings for those killed (which is righteous), but ignore George. It's easy to forgive and bless the faithful. But it's men like George who needed God and who should have been and who should BE in people's prayers. There is no doubt in my mind that if all of you out there who claim this is "scary" or "disturbing" had prayed for George – or the Georges YOU meet everyday that this would never have happened or will happen. I doubt this ushered him to heaven, but I pray God will forgive him — and all of those commenters out there who don't have the ability to seek forgiveness for EVERYONE involved in this horrific tragedy. (Wake up and stop paying so much attention to yourselves.)

This is truely heart breaking for his family and mostly the families of the victims. I however do not think that we are so self absorbed that we fail to see people as they are in emotional crisis such as this man. I know that those people who are truely emotionally ill and still able to successfully co-exhist with others are so well equipped that they are able to put up a face that no one ever suspects that there is a problem. People who suffer from depression do it every day, as do many others. People who are being abused are the best, they act as if nothing is wrong and no one suspects. I know this was not his situation he was just mentally ill. I think it is however; sad that people had to die without anyone noticing his illness. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and the family who lost loved ones.

It appears George S. may have anticipated the web sites getting shut down, since he set up more than one. Does anyone know what the other "passwords" are (for the other George site or the Space777 one) or have the content for the 19600930.htm page? - I'm guessing that's where the password to at least one of the other sites may be, since the clue to finding the site was on the 20090804.htm page and so to get access to the other sites you'd have to read both.

His last blog post is chilling, but I think it gives a good insight into the mind of someone who truly felt they had run out of options. He was, probably by his own volition, cut off from human contact, felt rejected, and simply tipped over the edge. How many other people like him are lurking out there considering the same thing?

Yes, this man was alone, but he was not open to God, who is there for everyone all of the time.. This man blamed his family and God and women in general for his loneliness.. I am sorry for those injured and killed and their families.. George should have killed himself in his basement-- ALONE.. I believe he was mentally ill.. You can be a victim or overcome and unfortunately he chose to be a victim, and chose to take others down with him.. God Bless his victims and their families..

Many of the comments proves how people are self absorbed and don't show any remorse for the pain George went through. It is a horrible thing that happened, but it is disgusting for people to just look at George and call him disturbing as though he was a natural born killer. annettew, you think that the 3 people who died were the only victims and your arrogance is outstanding. George was also a victim, a victim of depression, and depressed people can be picked out easily from any crowd, the people who cant pick them out choose not to because they don't want to "waste" time. You are probably one of those people, lazy and arrogant. I have read a bit of his posting from the above, and I can see his pain. Women have been brainwashed even those posting here, that they need the guy with the looks, regardless of how the guy will treat them. Shallow women you all are. It's not God he needed, it was the recognition he was human. It has become so easy in this world now days to think of what you can get out of another. The reason is woman have become hyper sensitive (do to the sensationalization of the nightly news from needing to nationally report on every single domestic tragedy just to make ratings in point: Drew Peterson – He can’t get a trial in his own area, because the saturation from the media on the jury pool, did we all need to know about Drew across America?) and feel they need to do that, so they can go back to their friends and have a Drama story where they are superior. Oh, yes, I saw this happen to a guy I know. It was not pretty. Women have gained a power to control men by means of legal judication, and solicial-sexisium. It has become all too apparent in these recent economic times. More men, by a mind blowing amount are unemployed then women, so skewed in comparison of the national men to women ratio on population. The reason is women have gained positions of power and status in the work force. Women are more likely to laid off and fire a guy, over a woman. Reason: “If I let sally go, who will talk to me about Oprah and my dream from last night?” The result; the guy gets the axe. Therefore, a lot of guys feel the same way as George does, but not many will post it online. Hollywood has to stop selling the idea that the 1% pretty boys out there, are what every woman wants, deserves, needs. Men are the new accessory in this culture. It’s a shame that guys have overcome these kinds of mind sets long ago. Too bad women never realized that we can separate the idea of loving a woman we commit to with the occasional glance at a beautiful woman. Make your excuses, placate my rant here, do what you have to, to make yourself feel better. But remember, this is not about me; it’s not about George, of even about yourself. The way you think is part of the problem. You would have rather seen him kill himself because you believe he "chose to be a victim." How about preferring to see him alive, well and integrated? No one choses to be a victim and no one prefers to live alone. From what he wrote it seems to me he was running out of his coping resources. He could have used some help from friends, but it seems he had none to support him. That really makes me wonder why? Why would a man be isolated and rejected and not have any other male friends who could help him? The real situation cannot be understood only from what he wrote. I think the answers are not so obvious and trying to hide these answers behind socially acceptable excuses will not prevent these outcomes. The best approach is to bring all these problems to the surface and stop calling these people names, like psychopath or mentally ill. Any other potential loner will be alienated and angered by yet another instance in which their real problems are not recognized and addressed. There's no point in being part of the problem, when you can be part of the solution. So my advice would be to stop profiling these people as sick or flawed and address their problems, you know, like get involved with helping others, instead of just preaching. Think about what would you do to help a person like that appreciate themselves more and gain confidence. If you cannot do that, then it's hypocritical on your part to come here and tell people what the moral of the story is.

OK, maybe George was a weirdo. Maybe he creeped people/women out. From reading his blog, it sounds like he had several social opportunities but his social ineptness, fear of women or weirdness caused him to blow his chance. Even though he states he is a failure, he ultimately blames the 30 million women out there. We all have been desperately lonely at one time or another, we all have known other lonely people out there and tried to comfort them, we all speak as though we knew this killer, but not one of you have claimed to have actually known him personally. The really disturbing part of all of this is the fact that most people will remember the killers name but will be hard-pressed to recall the victims names. Similar to the infamy enjoyed by the numerous serial-killers and murderers of celebrities. This is a sad reflection of the times we live in. Be good and true to yourself and others and lead a virtuous, fulfilling life....who remembers you? Murder numerous people in ghastly ways...your name will be remembered. The more people you kill and/or in more horrendous ways, the better the chance your name will embed itself in peoples memories via the blood-hungry media and our macabre fascination in such stories. These "non-entities" in life find immortality, through their crimes, in death. There is something seriously wrong with western culture. How do we fix it? This very medium I am using now is a big contributor to peoples sense of isolation even though it promotes the illusion of a "global village." A global village where every nearly inhabitant is locked in their hut. Locks on the inside to stop others getting in. Locks on the outside to keep them in. Turn off the PC. Throw away the locks. Go outside. Smile. Be happy. Enjoy life! Trust. Believe. Others will soon smile back and before long you will find a friend. A REAL friend. SMILE. NOW. TODAY.

Why do humans in general rely on god and jesus so much? When god created all this, if he created all this, he did something wonderful, he gave mankind the ability to choose the way they will conduct themselves. He gave free will, and I know that complete freedom cant exist amongst humans because some of us chose power over peace, but he gave us the freedom to chose how we become, although there are many other factors as well, he gave us the ability to have judment and use it. I know many believe praying is good, and I am not critizing anyone for praying because everyone must believe in something but when that one person on this thing said where was the precious god when the bullets went off, maybe he was watching, maybe not, but why even begin to blame him for something that a man chose to do? I do feel sorry for George, because he was lonely but that is the same as I feel for anyone that is lonely, and it by no way means that I personally condone his behavior. To take a life is a “sin” but who is anybody to say it should be forgiven? And also most people are self absorbed but one thing I have learned is that people have the wonderful abilty to change no matter how bad or messed up they might be. Also my heart goes out to those victims and also their families but more to them because they are the ones who have been robbed of their opportunity of life, and I think that that is the more important thing in this whole situation. Clearly this man needed help. It's appalling how his behaviour is being blamed on the very subjects he murdered. After reading Mr. Sodini's posts, he is obviously desperate and lonely and appears clinically depressed and psychotic. It's kind of like the chicken and egg. What caused what. I would bet that the latter had much to do with why he suffered with such poor social skills. He himself stated that he had a terrible childhood with poor male mentors in his life. But plenty of people experience poor childhoods and still have a fully enjoyable life as adults. So you can't justify his childhood as the reason. I think he was clearly mentally ill and narcissitic and chose to blame all his issues on others.

What George did was awful and no, it should not have happened. But I see why it did considering how he was treated and all he has been thru.
Obviously he had alot of problems, and a person can only take so much before they reach their breaking point. For him it was how women treated, rejected, and ignored him. He was like the kid in school that will do anything to fit in, anything to please others. He was like the kid that everyone thinks is nasty, nerdy, grungy, awkward, geeky, quiet, ugly, an outcast, or just plain was'nt good enough to be around them, let alone speak to them. Being treated in such a way drove him to have a mental breakdown, which led to his actions. Take Columnbine for example. Those 2 boys said part of the reason for what they did was b/c of how they were treated by the jocks, cheerleaders, bullies, and those who thought they were so much better than them. So it's not just suddenly snapping one day that has led to such actions by people, but instead, what has caused to snap. Clearly he had many problems, most were mental problems, but once all put together resulted in his actions.
Earlier Keith commented saying that many women are looking for that Hollywood, perfect all around, sexy and very social guy, and that most will ignore, or reject a man that is'nt. Sadly that is true. At some point and time all women do that to at least one man. How do I know that? I am a WOMAN. I've done it, and have seen my friends do it. Hell I've had men do it to me. But in today's society women do it far more than men do. It's sad that it happens, but it does everyday. And if you are reading this and saying I've never done that, then think back to when you were in jr. high, and high school, the kind of people you liked, and hung out with, and think about the people that you and your friends made fun of and would'nt be caught dead socializing with. Then tell me you've never done it one single time in your life. Sadly for George he never overcame that in all the years of his life, it started early and never stopped.
As for the topic about God and Jesus, and what George thought about them and how they would forgive him and let him into heaven, everyone is entitled to believe in what he/she wants. It may not be what you believe in but who gave you the right to judge a person by their faith whatever it is? It would'nt be right to tell you, that you are wrong just b/c you and I have different views on the matter, so dont judge him. Someone asked if anyone prayed for George Sodini the day before this happened? I'm sure the answer is no. People want to say God this God that, pray for this or pray for that person, yet most people dont pray for things until it's right in front of us, or to late to make a difference. Someone else said where was the precious God when the bullets went flying? Well that is something that no one has the answer to. Everyone wants to believe that God would stop such a horrible act, that he would not want all the victims family and friends to suffer such loss and heartache. But he did'nt, it happened and now we must all find a way to live thru such things, and go on with our lives. It seems the only thing everyone can agree upon is that God gave everyone the ability to choose for themselves. Granted the victims did not choose to die today, they did not choose to be there when the shootings occured. But George chose to kill people, and chose to take his own life. Now people should pray that everyone effected by what happened can go on with their lives, and overcome all that has happened. And they should pray that this never happens to anyone ever again.
What happened is horrible, sad, and tragic, and I for one hope and pray it does not happen to anyone else.

Let's not forget - he only wanted an 'attractive' woman. He was just as image-obsessed as the straw women that existed in his head, mocking him. He didn't set out to kill 'women', he set out to kill the kind of 'attractive women' that he felt weren't interested in him for one reason or another. I'm not going into the specific mental disorders this guy had, because I'm not a qualified psychiatrist, I just think it's a tragedy he didn't kill himself when he had the chance.

The guy got s--t break and couldn't deal with it. I can empathize. He was obsessed, clearly, and I think he might have enjoyed the rest of his life if he could just let it go, or hell, get hookers or something. Our most basic needs are for sex and companionship. This guy's reaction almost seems natural. He did everything he could to find a lady, and he came out empty-handed. He got a s--t hand, so he gave a big "f--k you" to fate. I think it's terrible what he did, but I'm impressed by his courage; it must have taken a lot of balls to do something like that. A lot of balls or a lot of pressure.

As I said, the best thing to do would have been to let it go, and give up, but that's ego for you. Self importance. The illusion that happiness is dependent on this or that. Oh well, his was a perfectly human reaction. Sadly, I think more people would do that kind of s--t it they had the balls.

So, instead of choosing to pursue superficial analysis, we might all decide to do something about the way we all conduct ourselves. We should look at all of these acts of violence as a symptom of an underlying disease, and try to fix that disease.

People are not born evil, people are not born sinners. People are *driven* to do evil things, because of greater societal problems that, more often than not, we are all responsible for.

He says younger women how many times as if he should own one! Give it up and get out of your 1950's world .... By your own admission, you are not qualified to comment. You are just like those that George and most men (most of those would not admit it openly) have crossed paths with. So let me tell you from a point of view, based on your comment. You most likely want the equality to that of men. As well, as the perks that women received from men for eons. As my father once said to my mother during an argument (god bless both of them even with their faults) he would tell her "You can have a gold brick in one hand, and scream and yell till you have a gold brick in the other." It is a fact, look around, women want equality AND special treatment. Courts are friendlier to women cases then men on the same issues. In Illinois, we have one lawyer, ONE Lawyer, whom fights for men’s rights in a divorce, as hard as those lawyers for women’s rights. So when men start to act the way women are. (I.e. wanting the good looking women on their arm or half from a divorce, we are superficial) BUT when a woman does it, it is o.k., and guys are to accept it. If women would not buy into the Hollywood image of Desperate House wives or the "Super-women" attitude towards men, maybe there would be less "Cougars". Those women that have abandoned their marriages just to pursue a younger piece of meat are victims of an image beat into their heads by a story...a story from Hollywood. If what is being thrust on to society by the manufactured story lines from Hollywood were so correct, then we would not have issues like this. BUT, that is not the case. Men have done the back peddle in the name of equal rights for women, but women have not given up on wanting guys to pay for the dinner, pay for the movie, pay for the mortgage, pay for the bills, pay, pay, pay. How often have you heard a woman pays for herself on a date...not often? How often do you hear a guy is to be the bread winner...way too often? How often is the guy expected to pay for the way of the women he is with...ALWAY! When have you heard Women saying, "No, no, I'll be the bread winner in the relationship?"...never. There may be exceptions to the rule...but those are exceptions, not the rule! Society is messed up from what the fast paced, media driven; Hollywood moguls have thrust on us over the last 60 years. Most of those thrusting hits on society grew up in the 60's and 70's. The feel-good attitudes of those days are not a good road map for social change and a basis for equality. If women want equality, then they should give up on the idea of being treated with respect, for just being a woman. We all are born and die just as easily as one another. It is the mind set we accept that differs us from each other. If we let someone else influence what we think is the accepted norm, then we are lost. That is what happened here. This guy was rebuked by his mother, his father, and brother first in life. Then he found solace in a few people earlier in his life, only to be once again rebuked. Did those people think top help him out if they saw issues, we will never know, but it is a good guess they did not. That is the trap. People in society are self absorbed into seeing only what they can get from the quick fix. Therefore George was ignored and shunned. If a person cannot trust family and friends to help when they have problems, where are they to go? Mars? It is easier for society to turn a blind eye, and with that I mean all of us, then to stop and ask how someone is doing and how they can assist. George was someone that needed help, and from all the online reports – “…Neighbors described him as reclusive and said he had stopped talking to them in the past few years.” This was the sign that was missed by even his neighbors. He reached out at church and was as reported – “The pastor mentioned in Sodini's online diary said Sodini attended his church but stopped in 2006, and that there was a minor incident involving a woman who felt "he was paying too much attention to her," Moffatt said. The pastor spoke to Sodini, and it stopped, he said.” Even the pastor missed the signs. This gets me to ask, what was going on with the pastor to miss what was happening to one of his flock. Some might say as quoted in the bible, I am not my brother’s keeper, but in the same breath act shocked when something like this happens. Society has become: the double standard, Me-too, Self absorbed, “I am entitled to this and that” attitude, Alienate those not like me, self absorbed Society.

In short (and closing on this subject I will no longer comment on): society has allowed a select few (exceptions to the rule) to influence what the ideal is. Woman more so influenced then men. Equality has become a battle cry for woman when they do not want to work for something. Men have been made out to be a target for women to use as a stepping stone. If it was bad for men for years to do this to women, then why is it now accepted to do it to men now? Two wrongs do not make a right, is this not what is taught to us when we are young? As we can see George Sodini has proven this to be true. I can only hold contempt for those willing to argue only from the point of a prejudged media/Hollywood/Starlet/self-absorbed influenced mind set.

To pull the exit plan off, it popped into my mind to just use some booze. I want to do this before I get laid off, for reasons not worth mentioning but don't seem to have the balls. After the gym, I stopped at Shop N Save and got a fifth of vodka and a small bottle of Jack Daniels.

Anyone else notice this?
Nowhere in PA can you buy liquor at a Shop n Save, there's not even a liquor store near the shop n save here.

I think it's naive to think this guy just needed help and everything would be ok after that. given what we know about him, even if he had a girlfriend or wife, he may have done something similar if things didn't go his way. like if his girlfriend decided to break up with him, or if his marriage ended in divorce, this is the exact type of guy who would get violent in that situation too. i don't understand why people like him kill other people for their issues. see a therapist, get on prozac, find a support group, do something. he didn't even try. it upsets me because here is a physically healthy guy with a good job, and his gripe is he's lonely. it's all about him. so selfish. he took what he had for granted, and only looked at the negative. he should have done volunteer work, or visited kids in the hospital with cancer, or worked with disabled veterans. something that would have broadened his viewpoint in life a little. maybe that would've put his lonliness in perspective. life is a gift, even if your lonely, and he threw it away like trash. guys like him don't really care about other people, they just want to make others pay for their inadequacies.

I agree with bumblebee. I understand how it feels to be really lonely. I spent 10 years of my life in despair because I was so lonely and so, unlike Sadini, I knew something was wrong and sought help. I got a therapist and talked it out with them and it's now two years and I'm much better. My social skills, though still lacking, have improved, and I have friends now. I have three friends... and even though it isn't a lot to people, it means the world to me. Sadini shouldn't be thought about as some poor lost soul everyone should have prayed for. We have so many options... we have large groups out there, where people will meet up to talk about their social disorders. You can fix yourself if you get help... no.. this guy was selfish, wasn't happy, and decided to kill a bunch of other happy people. How does that help him? He's a lonely man who probably thought this this "project" would get people to actually know who he is, even if he wont' ever be able to see it. For those people out there in his position... there is nothing wrong with you. Only when you start murdering people for your problems... i recommend, from someone who has also been struck by severe loneliness, to just look for help and believe me, you will dig yourself out of that slump. I feel bad for the people who were killed... I wish this guy had just sought help.

I agree with swordofotori. "You can fix yourself if you get help" My life wasn't easy growing up and I went through a lot of stuff. That does not give me the excuse to take my anger out on innocent people and go out and kill someone. I'm sick and tired of people blaming others for their actions. What he did was horrible and wrong, plain and simple. There is also no need for "women haters" such as the guy now making fun of retarded people, to post a bunch of crap.

It's a shame that george sodini allowed sorry excuses for human beings (those who rejected him over the years including the women he mentioned)to consume him constantly over the years leading to this horrible tradgedy.

It's sad his frustration came to this point. I would add from the comment above, if he was going through that kind of rejection then he would have STARTED having a lack of confidence in himself later on and women are REAL QUICK in reject a person for that reason also. So it may have been like a snowball effect that wouldn't end no matter what he did. Apparently he was keeping himself fit, he was going to the gym, so I don't think it was his appearance was an issue. He may have came across as too nice and women reject for that reason also. He could have not met the height requirement of 6 foot. Women reject guys for that reason to. Women are NEVER rejected by men for those kinds of reasons. For those women that think guys got it made in the dating arena, if they were a guy for a day could not go a day dealing with all the weird s--t guys have to put up with from women. I don't condone for a second what he did, he let his frustration take him over the edge and now innocent people are dead as a result.
