  • Coaching Career

    George Karl became head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1984, at the age of 33. He led the Cavaliers to the playoffs in 1985, winning 36 games that season. From 1986 to 1988, Karl was the coach of the Golden State Warriors, winning 58 games. He went on to coach the Seattle SuperSonics from 1991 to 1998, making the playoffs seven times and the NBA Finals in 1996, where they lost to the Chicago Bulls.
