George IV of England was the son of King George III. He became Regent in 1811, upon the deterioration of his father's mental health, ascending to the throne in 1820.Official Site: George IV (r. 1820-30) His reign was characterized by personal excess. The Napoleonic Wars

The Napoleonic Wars were fought between France, led by Napoleon Bonaparte, and Britain, Spain, Portugal, Russia and the German states from 1803 to 1815. Napoleon was attempting to expand his territory. Britain contributed naval power to important battles such as the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.
