George Foreman is a former two-time World Heavyweight Boxing Champion and creator of the George Foreman Grill. He is now an ordained minister at the The Church of Lord Jesus Christ in Houston, Texas.
Boxing Career
Foreman first came into the limelight as a boxer winning the heavyweight match in the Olympics in Mexico, 1968. With an amateur record of 27-0, he made the move to professional status in 1969 winning all 12 of the fights in his debut year.
In 1973 he won his first World Heavyweight Championship against the undefeated Joe Frazier. He defended his title two more times, once against Jose Roman and the other against Ken Norton. In an effort to defend the ring a third time, he was knocked out by Muhammad Ali, making it the only time Foreman was knocked out in his career.
