Geocaching is a type of scavenger hunt in which participants find hidden "treasure" caches using GPS tracking methods and other modern technology.

Caches and Cachers
A cache usually consists of a waterproof container which contains a logbook and some sort of small trinket that becomes the "treasure." The geocacher notes the coordinates of the cache and posts it, along with other details of the location, on a geocaching website. Geocachers use this information to find the cache, from which they may take the treasure, provided they leave something else in its place. The finders record the details of their hunt in the logbook and on the website from which they obtained the cache information. -
